You need to uninstall Sounds of Skyrim

I have had no problems with uninstalling. I was getting far too many crashes with the SoS mods installed (could not enter Fellglow Keep at all for example). But then, I did bite the bullet and start new characters.

My savegames were over 50mb. I've uninstalled skyrim and reinstalled, then started a new character. I'm really disappointed because SOS added a lot of atmosphere.

EDIT: BTW I was only level 20.

@ kevkiev, Thanks for that. Coming from you and ginnyfizz, that really means a lot to me. Was just trying to contribute to this awesome community. I'm no modder or rocket scientist, so I have to pick my moments. 8)

@ nbh101, I feel your pain friend. I have hardly played since un-installing SOS.

Anybody got a scoop on any progress Cliffworms is making? If any...

Thanks for the warning. I was running the mod myself and was even making a video LP with it active. I didn't notice any problems and my saves are less then 10mb, but I uninstalled it anyway. I hope don't have problems after removing it.

Uninstalling the mods this way seems to have worked fine for people on the official forums;

(Quote from Julle64)

1. Load a game with the SoS mods installed.

2. Disable all the sounds by using the console commands:

Startquest SosConfigCivilization

Startquest SosConfigThewilds

Startquest SosConfigThedungeons

3. Then stopguest the mods by using the console commands:

Stopquest SosConfigCivilization

Stopquest SosConfigThewilds

Stopquest SosConfigThedungeons

4. Save the game and quit to desktop

5. Deactivate the mods.

6. Remove the mods and the scripts (as mentioned in the first post of this thread).

Might be worth a shot before you completely delete any old saves, as people also report that their half-bloated saves suddenly reduced back to normal file-size a couple of saves afterwards.

Also, people running older versions without the script-files seems to be safe. I've been playing about 50 more hours on my current character since this was discovered (~100h total), with Dungeons 1.10 and Wilds 1.0.1, and still no problems. Same with others :)

i tried this and it did not work. as soon as i deactivated the mods, savegame filesize increased from 6mb to 70mb.

had problems with 2 comands:

"Startquest SosConfigThedungeons" i entered the comand, but no menu showed up

"Startquest SosConfigThewilds" error message: comand unknown

i have german version of sos.

-snip-

I tried this as well with no luck. I installed the mods using Steam Workshop so I don't have any of the scripts, only a .bsa and .esp file. What should I do? My saves are now 40,000 KB and are causing me to CTD :\

I've already tried reinstalling the game as well but that didn't help either

Does any have this file i need to reinstall to unistall correct. I need both dungeons and wild.

If you installed via NMM, I think the files should still be on your PC. Check skyrim/data/mods

edit: er, ok it's late and I'm tired, I imagine you deleted it o/w you could just reinstall via NMM.
