Lost motivation, mod is on hiatus.

 

Greetings all! It is I, Nyxeka. Nyxeka Thexios!

Here I am, announcing this to the world, in hopes that it will greatly improve my motivation to actually finish this project!

So, what, you may ask, the hell am I talking about? Why... Nothing but a FREAKING ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE MOD!

 

ATTENTION I'm currently stopping this project until further notice, as I now have a job, school, and other stuff to attend to...

 

Yes! That is right! I, in my eternal glory-ness, plan to create a Massive, complete, and amazingly fun Zombie survival world out of Skyrim.

 

Plans and Speculations

 

I really want this to be more of a survival thing then a hack-and-slash FPS, such as Left4Dead/2, I want zombies that can move fast, get angry, and kill you if you come close, and/or if you decide to get cocky and take more then 1-2 on at a time. I am utterly tired of all of these zombie mods where it just adds a bunch of them in random places, that you can easily slaughter. I want you to feel rewarded when you come across a rare item, something like food and water, and/or weapons, I want you to feel good about being able to make it through the night, I want this to be immersive, and as grittily realistic as possible.

 

Tools:

- Creation Kit

- SKSE

- C++

- Possibly Script-Dragon

 

Features:

- A realistic zombie survival world/map

- Lots or "realism", this includes things such as "Thirst", "Hunger" and "Sleep"

- The "Zombie" disease will start out relatively small, but will spread dynamically on it's own

- (Hopefully) a whole new world

- Some sort of Zombie Apocalypse API, Something flexible, re-usable, and with lots of compatibility

- Will probably be using Draugr without "The Voice" as Zombies

- Powerful Zombies, with low HP

 

Things That Would be Cool, But Will Probably Never Happen:

- Skyrim-Online integration

 

 

So, what are your thoughts on this? Ideas? Speculations? Opinions?

I encourage you to tell me how much this project will fail/suck/never happen.

 

CURRENTLY FINISHED

 

-Created Zombies, zombie faction, and zombie class

-Zombies can now infest others(humans only), move around, attack the player...

Next:

travelling disease, new game mechanics, zombies infesting other monsters, etc.

Essential characters "immune" to the zombie disease...

 

I thought about this for skyrim after playing dayz and this sounds just like a TES dayz. I love dayz so this sounds great!

Still at it xD progress is slow, I have zombies, I have zombie factions, I have zombies that can turn other people into zombies, right now I have to work on a reasonable way to make the disease spread, a way for the zombies to move about, maybe like a courier who's carrying a strand of the disease or something... I wont be releasing it until all that crap is done :P Edited by nyxeka

Every cynical and pessimistic cell in my body screams at me to crap all over this beautiful pipe dream but I just can't. I've got this image of frantically picking at a pack of pickled zombies with a bow then, in desperation as they are upon me, shouting the last couple dozen of them off a cliff.

 

I wish you all the best, I'll be keeping an eye on this project for sure. Just don't make them zigzag or go through things and you're golden.

Yaaaaay It is about time. I have been craving a proper zombie mod for a while now. I've really sort of been wanting to do a proper play through but in a zombie Skyrim so if it could somehow be possible it would be great.

 

could you possibly add a friendly fire file, because i had lots of fun with the current zombie apocalypse mod but i kept hitting essential npc's by mistake (simply because they were everywhere) and they turn hostile. Could you create a file that makes it so that if i hit them 3 or less times they won't turn hostile and no bounty (but the game also needs to detect when you are hitting them on purpose so more than 3 times and they go hostile and you then get a bounty) or something similar.

 

Also the current Zombie apocalypse mod adds something like 8,000 zombies to the game world (it was the most fun part of the mod, the fact that they were everywhere and sometimes you could take them and sometimes you had to run) are you gonna do something similar? If so do you have a figure in mind?

 

And what is your zombie variety like, As much fun as the current zombie mod is, it gets boring after 5 hours because there is only 2 types of zombie, "Zombie" and "hardened Zombie" (and they were pretty much draugrs, nothing wrong with that, great idea but the variety was really lacking" There is a Skyrim Monster Mod (you have probably heard of it) and in it are these "Rot Fiends" which look just like zombies, it would be great to have them in your mod (I'll post a picture of it at the end)

 

Sorry if my post is a bit long but last couple of question.

 

I already have a mod called Total Realism - Basic Needs installed which adds thirst, Hunger, and Tiredness. It also makes you sick if you eat stale food and it brings down regeneration of health, stamina and magicka big time when your hungry, thirsty and tired, Are you still going to make your own basic needs or perhaps ask for permission to incorporate that mod into yours, could make some tweaks too, it might save you a lot of time.

 

Is there going to be quests, I would love to see a very very long main quest in which you slowly set up a resistance against the zombies In survivor camps, it wouldn't be a quest to wipe out all zombies (that would be near impossible), but just to give you and the cities and towns and camps a higher chance of survival and not being overrun as often, zombies would still make it hard to get anywhere but at least now you would have gathered special weapons and things that would give you a good chance. Also other zombie related quests would be cool to keep the mod fresh.

 

Sorry if I am prying too much, please tell me if I am.

to answer your questions, ^|^|^|^|^, I am hoping to make a zombie for any creature in the world of Skyrim, and have it spread by contact of said creature. I imagine that once a dragon gets infected, the disease will spread insanely fast.

As for the friendly fire thing, it's doable, but I don't think I will. I might also add contaminated weapons, such that if you don't clean it properly, if you hit someone, you can turn them into a zombie...

Also know that I am attempting to make this mod work no matter what part of the game you are in, completed or otherwise, though eventually I will change parts of the main quest and such... And no, it won't be coming out some time in the next 2 weeks.
