Cant update mods through Vortex, "cannot open the file as archive"

I use vortex and i can download mods fine with the "download with NMM" button on the website, but when i try to download an update for my mods with Vortex (by clicking "check for mod updates" then the little cloud icon next to updated mods) i get an error that says "Encountered error extracting the archive. Please verify this file was downloaded correctly" followed by an error with the path to the mod's archive that ends with "Can not open the file as archive".

Is it a bug? Is it a fixable issue? Is everyone else able to update their mods through Vortex?

Heres a picture of the error.

Id really like to be able to download updates through the launcher. I can download the new files through the website but thats a lot more work than clicking the update button on vortex.

Thanks, here's hoping i get a quick reply. Cheers.

EDIT: Its a corrupt download. when i inspect the failed downloads in vortex i get this.

no download urls

The error message shows you where the downloaded archive is.

Navigate to it and see if you can open it with 7-Zip.

If you can, you can drag it to the mod download area.

Looks like a simple download error to me though...

You're right, looks like a download error. When i try to extract it manually it gives me an error about the archive being corrupt or damaged.

So how do i fix my download errors then? Keep in mind it does this with every single mod update i try to download through Vortex.

EDIT: When i try to actually download the update through Vortex, it seems they always fail. It tells me "Sorry, this download is missing info necessary to resume. Please try restarting it."

EDIT2: Inspecting the error, it gives me "no download url" as the error's base.

Use the report facility in Vortex (three dots in upper right corner) and report it as a bug.

Maybe someone on staff will have some idea about corrupt downloads.

At least you narrowed it down...

Might help if you download the same file manually and compare file sizes. If the bad one is zero in length - that would mean something...

Ive edited my OP with the exact error message i get when i inspect the failed download on Vortex.

Close Vortex to get it out of the picture.

Can you download these mods manually?

How does the download size compare?

The archives downloaded through vortex and manually have the exact same size.

Sorry to keep iterating on you but I always need a little more...

The ones you download manually with no Vortex - can you unzip them or are they corrupt also?
