paralysisbyanalysis
I'm trying to install a few mods to Skyrim SE, namely Apocalypse and one of its compatibility patches, Practical Food and Alcohol, and Immersive Citizens. However, every time I try to enable and sort these mods, it throws an error that reads "X.esm/esp is not a valid plugin." After this, it disables the mod and every time I try to enable it, it doesn't actually add the mod in game. To troubleshoot this, I've added the mod manually to Vortex, and I've used the "download with Vortex" through the Nexus. Neither of these fixed the issue. I don't understand why I'm getting these issues now after installing 100+ mods from the Nexus. Vortex is on the newest version, so I'd assume that it's not an issue with it. I'm just lost beyond belief and it's getting on my nerves. Any help would be much appreciated.
HadToRegister
Do you have the mod staging folder on the same drive as your games?

FlameFury15
is that the actual error message? X? if so I think that one of the mods is possibly borked itself....
BigBizkit
When you say you are on the newest version, I am assuming you mean 0.16.15? If so, you could try updating to the latest test build 0.17.1 (Settings > Vortex > Update > choose "testing"). 0.16.15 produced "X is not a valid plugin" messages erroneously, which has since been fixed.
