Kralore
Where does Vortex get the information for mod version numbers? I have a mod with all the proper information in the fomod/info.xml file, but Vortex doesn't seem to use that version number. This is in regards to manually installing a mod by dragging it to Vortex. HadToRegister
Why are you manually install and dragging into Vortex? If you move the zipped up archives into the Vortex Download folder, Vortex will automatically detect them.In order to get the correct info, you need to double click on the mod so a panel slides out from the right, then tell vortex the ORIGIN of the Mod (pick Nexus) from the drop down, then pick GUESS from the NExus Mod ID field. You only have to do this with Mods manually installed, or dragged, because if you download them with Vortex, this info should already be there. Kralore
It has to do with mods that are not available on Nexus. Personal Conversions from LE to SE and other mods that are created and not posted on nexus. From what you've said. It sounds like Vortex will only have a version number automatically if its downloaded from Nexus?

Vortex can grab the metadata (or whatever it's called) AUTOMATICALLY when a mod is downloaded from the Nexus using Vortex. It can also grab that data from the nexus, using the method I explained above.
