Arcturus7777
WHy the hell did the latest update uninstall all my mods. I am in the middle of a play thru with 230 mods, and about 25 more mods not installed Do you know how hard it will be to get these installed in the proper order and with the proper patches, with NO load order available, and the mods listed alphabetically. It took 3 weeks in january Also, how do I know all the files are intact? PART of the MOD files are still in the game folder. You did not think a WARNING, might be a good thing to have in that UPDATE popup. Do I have to reinstall fallout 4 now? Only the DLC's show in the plugin section. Guest deleted34304850
shouldnt take you more than an hour to reinstall them. vortex takes all the hard work out of modding for you. it's truly ace.
Arcturus7777
Where did you have your Mod Download Folder located, and where did you have your Mod Staging Folder locateI do not know, Will vortex work if it is in the wrong place? I download everything manually, and install from that file, that way I always have the mod, and the mods are in a place that the mod manager can not mess with. Cleaning up the data directory will take longer than that, unless you suggest ignoring everything that is currently wrong, and just start clicking. depending on vortex, the program that screwed up everything to now suddenly fix it all back. Well, I can tell you, that I updated Vortex earlier to day, and still have 252 mods for FO4, 224 for SSE, 112 for FO3, and 127 for FONV. That is why I asked you where you put your Mod Staging Folder and Mod Download Folder, but you replied "I don't know"Because some people have been incorrectly putting these inside their game folder or even inside their Vortex Install folder, (which while wipe out any and all Mods) I think if Vortex was the actual culprit, the forums would be bursting at the seams with "Upgraded to 0.17.3 and my mods were wiped outposts", so let's work on figuring out what happened with YOUR setup. I'm curious as to why you downloaded everything Manually?
Guest deleted34304850
no need to be salty my friend, just trying to reassure you that the sky isn't falling. just use purge, that will clean everything up for you, so you don't have to. then you can redeploy your mods again and it will be all shiny and new. I'm curious as to why you downloaded everything Manually? DO the downloads have to be on the c: drive, game is on the i:drive. Staging was in vortex directory under on i:drive. changed it to I:garyapps\vortexmods\fallout4 I download manually so, i can keep all the mods I installed in MOD folders, Like armor. looks, ect. that way I have every mod, and every version, and if the mod is removed or hidden i still have it. If I delete nexusmod manager, or vortex, I still have it. IF the HARD Drive crashes I still have it on USB.
