Hello everyone

Does anybody know how to fix the HDT Hair bug stretch?

I posted about it at Forum in Yundao Hair with Physics SEE at https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18566?tab=posts

HDT Hair and fast travel are conflict because animated hair movement is stretching out and goes back to the same shape of the normal hair when I play my female character to fast travel to any locations in Skyrim SE. Exit and enter any location are conflict with it as well. I have no clue how to fix and correct the animated hair movement. I tried to find answer through many website and YouTube but no luck. I am not skillful Modding and have no knowledge to fix it. I use Vortex Mod Manager with Loot, SEEdit, BethINI, NifSkope. I know a little how to use Creation Kit and SEE NIF Optimize.

Take a look at and click image links below

She fast travel to LakeView Manor when HDT hair stretch out.

Please help me to solve hair bug if you know any answer to fix it, tell me how to fix it with the guide and step to step.

Thank you for your time to read my forum.

Okay, maybe related, maybe not. Try two things, if possible. One, readjust your mod order. Second, locate sksee.ini. Should be in Data\SKSE\Plugins. Edit the file, and change this line: bEnableFaceOverlays=1

Hey SirTwist,

I did modify the line ( at bottom ) in notepad of SKSE64.ini this afternoon.

Top - bEnableFaceOverlays=1 --- ( keep 1 but don't change ).

Bottom - bEnableFaceOverlays=1 ; Default [ 1 ] change to bEnableFaceOverlays=0 ; Default [ 1 ] ---( only change 1 to 0 but don't change Default )

It only fixed and removed shadow eye for Racemenu that updated to 0.32 version but it is not fixing HDT hair bug stretch. If you use Racemenu, go ahead update the new version and modify 1 to 0 at that line ( at bottom ) in the notepad. Take a look and click at this link: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19080?tab=posts at the forum of Racemenu that talked about it.

It should relate xml files for HDT Hair but not SKSE64.ini

Few days ago, I researched and found this reddit website that talked about HDT hair bug in Skyrim LE version but not SE version.

hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml possibly solve HDT hair bug. I can open inside that xml file and edit the value to 255 that can fix HDT Hair bug. LE has it but SE doesn't have it. I did check out that xml file is missing in Plugin folder.

My question is : Can hdtPhysicsExtensionsDeaultBBP.xml convert from LE version to SE version for Yundao Hair with Physicis SEE via Creation Kit for fixing HDT Hair bug if possible?

Take a look and click at the link : https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/98873u/hdt_hair_and_cloaks_freaking_out

Thanks for replying your suggest.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was doing some research last year into the whole HDT stretching thing over on the other place we shall not mention... however it seems the HDT stretch problem could be caused by CPU getting stressed a little too hard. Its kind of connected to the whole NPC going invisible. But that was almost a year ago an I eaten since then so I'm not sure where the thread would have been. I used to have an FX 6300 (horrible chip) and it utterly hated oldrim HDT. I used to get all sorts of problems like invisible NPC's and HDT wildness...To the point of me stopping using any thing HDT. Not because I didn't like the physics more because my PC even when I added another 8gb of RAM couldn't handle more than a token sample of HDT.

Hope it helped some.

Are you by any chance a Vampire?
I've had this happen to HDT hair whenever i change stages of feeding, idk if its actually related but thats when the screen makes a tiny stutter and the hair remains fixated in the air and goes all over the place

I have the same issue while being a vampire.. Can't find a proper fix, the value in hdtPhysicsExtensionBBP.xml already is 255. Did you by chnce find any solution ?

Stretched hair/cloth/breasts & invisible character models are all hallmark issues of HDT PE/SMP... Not much can be done to fix this on the SSE side of things I'm afraid. There was a fix for the stretching issues in LE but it was removed from the Nexus for whatever reason. Doesn't help the SSE issue though since Skyrim LE HDT won't work on SSE nor will it ever...

Getting rid of Dynamic Vampire Appearance fixed the stuttering and hair stretchiness for me
