Vortrex not updating plugins.txt & loadorder.txt

I followed the upgrade path for Vortex as prompted, on 0.17.5. I started noticing odd behavior in FO4, fixes applied but not fixing, and installing mods that don't show up in the game or in FOEdit (FOEdit has them in it's list, but not as enabled, i.e., they are in the listing but with no load order number or formid, and they are esp's). I checked the dates on loadorder.txt & plugins.txt and they haven't changed since Nov 2018, no errors in Vortex as it deploys new mods. Shouldn't vortex changes these files as I add/remove mods via vortex? I also did a purge/deploy in Vortex.

In my appdata/local/fallout4, the same one that fo4 has used since I installed it several years ago. No they aren't set to r/o, that was the first thing I checked, but I would have thought that Vortex would throw out some error if it couldn't update those files, loot always would.

Hmm, mine change when I switch profiles.

You're not running Vortex as an admin are you?

No, I haven't had to run it with elevated privs up until now. I think it's about time to save my fallout .exe (because f4se hasn't been updated yet for the latest fallout version) and re-install/check files. Not sure what happened near mid-Jan, I've been blithely added mods and wondering why I haven't seen their effects in the game.

You should install "Fallout 4 Auto Exe Backup"

It will automatically backup your current fallout4.exe before each update.
