Xescream Posted August 3, 2012 Share Posted August 3, 2012 Technically as such a mod would be considered an alteration to/for Skyrim made with Bethesdas copyrighted Creation Kit, it would be illegal to charge/give any form of monetary payment for the mod. Donating to authors out of generosity is allowed, but international copyright laws prohibit people from using Beth's software to make money, sorry dude. However, "donations" are always allowed, and there is no way for anybody to check if money paid is a donation, or paid for a service. That said, one could also just pay for the 3d model/rig of the model, at which the person would put it into the CK himself. If someone were to make the mod and accept money for the time and effort they invested, I don't think there would be anything illegal about that. Only if they were to charge money for access to copies of the work (which would belong to Bethesda), would there be a problem. This is just my partially informed opinion, I'm no lawyer or anything. Also, as far as Nexus' rules go, I think it would be OK, because the poster volunteered the money, effectively offering to donate, which is allowed. Paying somebody to build something, which is then released to the public for free I'm sure is fine. That's more like investing in free properties. What you're looking for would be a forest nymph which covers everything else. Taken from a Warcraft concept wiki...
