Fresh installation mid modded-game.

I want to perform a fresh installation of Fallout 4. Already using Vortex. What is the best way to reapply all the mods installed? Or Vortex would takes care of itself after main game installation? Previously, NMM has a folder that keeps all the compressed mods in a folder, but not Vortex. Instead there is a staging folder that keeps all the mods uncompressed.

Make a complete copy of your fallout game and all your .ini found in your documents folder to copy back in if anything goes wrong. Verify the game in steam, do what vortex asks of you if anything, and you should be good to go, unless you did bad groundwork when setting up you folders and install locations.

If you are trying to get rid of redundant files and folders, just use the purge functions and redeploy found under advanced setting.

I'm not sure why you would need to re-install mid game. Unless you did something nasty with tesedit your original files should be fine.

Incorrect, the DOWNLOAD folder is where Vortex keeps the Mod Archives, JUST LIKE NMM

The Mod Staging Folder has the uncompressed, installed version of the mods with the hardlinks to the Data Folder JUST LIKE NMM.

Your Download folder is where you put it

I'd like to know why you're under the impression that Vortex doesn't keep the Mod Archives on your hard drive?

I also ask, WHY are you going to reinstall your game mid-playthrough?

If you MUST do it, then you'll have to PURGE your mods first.

To use PURGE you have to to this

then this

I want to reinstall because after a mod that involve CIT Ruins, every time I get near the main door of CIT Ruins facing the river, the game would ctd. Even after I uninstall the mod and start a new game. Tried verify game still same. I have also tried replace the game from a backup but it just broke other things in the process.

Did you also find the folder where the DOWNLOADED archived mods are?
