Vortex Load Order Differs from xEdit

I have been using Vortex to manage FO3. I install mods and use "rules" to set a load order with mods that have a conflict . When I check with FO3Edit, the load order is completely different than what Vortex displays, and shows that the plugin(s) that I just adjusted are still out of order, including plugins that I never touched. I don't know if this is a bug with Vortex or xEdit.

Nah, I've run into this too when doing a heavy editing session where I edit and save esp's that I've been editing.

You need to close Xedit, then click SORT NOW in the PLUGINS tab of Vortex and that should make Xedit load the proper load order.

If that doesn't work close Vortex and reopen it.

Do you have Exedit set up properly in the Dashboard?

Yes, it's properly setup. This happens even after using "sort now" . I had previously tried closing Vortex as you just suggested, hoping that would solve it , and that made no difference . Lo and behold, today it worked . If xedit is reading from the "loadorder.txt" file that Vortex generates. then Vortex is taking its' time updating the file. After I made my OP last night I checked the loadorder.txt file and it was still dated to 2 hours previously .
