HadToRegister
The settings "Starter" and "Recently Managed" are already on. As for moving the game. The only drive I have available is the local disk. Vortex and Steam are located in the x86 program files. I take it you are suggesting to move everything from x86 to the basic program files? you need to install the Vortex version that allows you to install where you want. Install everything outside of ANY "Program Files" folders because Windows protects them too much. Install your Steam and Games in their own folder like C:\SteamInstall Vortex into it's own folder C:\Vortex And set your Mod DOWNLOAD Folder, and Mod STAGING folder into their own folders OUTSIDE of any "Program Files" folder

EisenhammerTec
Would it be better to move my steam files or have them redownloaded to the specified C: \Steam folder? As for vortex. I assume the best method is to delete the program and reinstall it via the custom location install version yes?
rmm200
As long as Steam does it - either is OK. Steam will fix the registry.Using Steam Move should avoid the downloads.I am less picky about where Vortex lives. Just keep his working directories - elsewhere. And yes, uninstall (never delete) followed by Install should be fine.
EisenhammerTec
I've moved both Vortex and Steam to their own folders on my C-Drive.Both the staging and downloads have separate folders as well. The issues that I originally started this topic on are all still present despite it being moved. EisenhammerTec
Additionally, Vortex is giving me a new issue.Failed to update masterlist: This might be a temporary network error. If it persists, please delete "C:\ProgramData\Vortex\fallout4\masterlist"
rmm200
Just a reminder - if Vortex lists a game as Managed, Scan will not find it. It has already been found. I wish you could take screenshots - it is Windows key and print screen. Here is mine, open to Games, with the + sign on Fallout 4 clicked. Bottom button is Manually Set Location. Try that. Only thing in my C:/ProgramData/Vortex is installer.exe, which is as it should be.
