jellyhead
Hi, Iâm trying to change some NPC faces in the GECK and Iâm having a strange issue where some changes seem to change the complexion/tone and the face will suddenly become really pale. It doesnât seem to be consistent either, Iâll use same slider after reloading and it wonât necessarily happen. It also happens if I edit the face manually by right clicking. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks
GamerRick
Did you try the Lock Complexion" checkbox?
jellyhead
Yep, but it doesnât seem to carry over when I change tabs, which is where the problem usually comes up. To give an example, Iâll be changing the nose and all of a sudden the face will become extremely pale.
Mktavish
That is called the white head bug ... which is because the edits or any npc graphic data needs to be held in the .esm . You can change their inventory , packages , AI data . But their base-ID and looks , need to be in an .esm .Therefore do you really need these face changes for your mod ? If so , turn the .esm into an .esp ... make the changes , then turn it back into an .esm .But this would only be useful for your own game. Otherwise if wanting to publish ... you need to copy the npc into an .esp , and still turn it into an .esm for upload , after changing all the ticky tack code pieces for this new version to work like the old one. blackrat99
Do you mean in the game? - in which case Mktavish is correct. Or do you mean the face becomes pale in the GECK? If it's the latter it's probably because there are racial modifiers that automatically get applied when you change some sliders. I'm not an expert on this, There's some info about it here https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/16154
AutisticAussie
Yeah, it seems to be pretty much a bug/feature. Some times you just random faces, actually, most times.
