I'm trying to download a mod for Oblivion that i used to use a few years back (Black Marsh Hall: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/29137) but every time i try to use Vortex, i get the "download failed" error message, and when i click more it says:

"You don't have permission to get download links from the API without visting nexusmods.com - this is for premium users only.

url: https://api.nexusmods.com/v1/games/{gameId}/mods/{modId}/files/{fileId}/download_link"

I'm using Nexus Mods to download the mod but it seems to think i'm not?

What version of Vortex are you on?

How are you downloading from the site?

I'm not sure what version, tho i did download it a while back. Does Vortex have an auto-update or search for updates function or do i have to delete and reinstall the newest version?

I'm trying to download mods like i always have, but hitting the vortex/download with NMM button, NOT manual downloads.

EDIT: Nevermind. For whatever reason it's just now giving me the option to update Vortex. I've had it open and been trying to use it for days and it's just now giving me the option to update

Nexusmods uses two different sets of servers. Premium users, and the rest of us.

The error message you got indicates you were connected to the Premium server when you are not logged in as a Premium member.

Make sure you are logged into the Nexusmods site with the correct ID, and that Vortex is running and logged in with the same ID.

That's because Vortex only checks for updates when you run it.

If you leave it running for days, it won't know an update is available until you shut it down and start it back up again
