I hope I am using the spoiler tag correctly. But this is a papyrus log. I used the original Dragon Priest Mask Holder and then I used the copied one.

You have at least 9 mods installed. Test without any other mod installed on a fresh save.

The installed mods are the 3 DLC's and all the unofficial patches. I uninstalled them all and the Dragon Priest Bust Maskholder works.

I then reinstalled only the 3 DLC's and hooray, it still works. So apparently it has something to do with the unofficial patches.

After that I intended to reinstall the patches 1 by 1. When I reinstalled the first one; "Unofficial Skyrim Patch", the troubles began anew.

Should I use the unofficial patches then or not ?

Well, this means that the USKP fixed the issue with masks losing their tempering when placed/removed. You have a few options now:

1. Add USKP dependency.

2. Dublicate the existing scripts, compile it and use it instead of the vanilla script.

3. Implement the same sollution as USKP yourself.

I think I will go with option number 2. I have really no idea what or how to do options 1 and 3.

But I am glad to know why it didn't work. I was getting really frustrated and thought I had overlooked something with your tutorial. Particularly as the more difficult one (the clawholder) worked fine. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into helping me.

Scripting is something I still have to learn more about.

Fix your typo in the name of the script: "ElevatRefs", you forgot an 'e' in elevate.

turns out that typo was just me typing too fast on here. I literally copy and pasted the whole thing you gave me into the doc and it still said compilation failed

Tested it. Turns out a direct copy/paste does indeed result in a compilation error

This is the corrected code. At least it compiles any way :P

The array brackets needed to be on the property type rather than the variable name.

Scriptname ElevateRefs extends ObjectReference

ObjectReference[] Property RisingRefs Auto
Float Property Elevation = 500.0 auto
Float Property Speed = 300.0 auto

Event OnActivate(objectReference akActivator)
    int i = 0
    while(i<RisingRefs.length)
        RisingRefs[i].TranslateTo(RisingRefs[i].getpositionX(), RisingRefs[i].getPositionY(), RisingRefs[i].getPositionZ() + Elevation, RisingRefs[i].getAngleX(), RisingRefs[i].getAngleY(), RisingRefs[i].getAngleZ(), Speed, 0.0)

I'll update the tutorial to match option 3 later.

Well, I had to adjust a few things in the script. A tiny error like that happens sometimes :p
