Skyrim SE freezes randomly

My game freezes completely randomly, not near any specific place or cell. Completely random.

If I try to wait it out, the music and sounds keep playing until they reach the end of the loop, after which nothing happens.

I can only see the desktop by using CTRL + Alt + Delete, but even then, my computer won't react and I have to exit from the user to prompt Windows to ask me if I want to close the necessary programs.

I have SKSE64, I use Nexus Mod Manager (not Vortex), and LOOT.

Problematic Mods:

 

Interesting NPCs (3DNPC) = incredibly resource intensive, capable of making skyrim reach its maximum string limit, exceeding the string limit will fry the saved game. this mod is really only supposed to be used on a resource minimal setup game, because of that. can also cause a lot of incompatibilities with other mods. as good as this mod is, its a very risky mod to run on a heavy skyrim Setup.

 

ELFX Exteriors = not wise to use this module with Weather Mods + ENB.

 

ELFX Weathers = Incompatible with Climates of Tamriel (Another weather mod) multiple weather mods are not compatible and can cause issues.

 

When Vampires Attack = Made Redundant by 1 of Bethesda's earlier Official Patches (their patch completely removed Vampire Attacks) this mod is also further Made Redundant by the same author who made a complete solution mod (Run for your lives)

 

Ruby Red Vampire Eyes = Incompatible with Improved Eyes Skyrim (any of the Vampire Eyes Options)

 

Keep it Clean = Probably resource intensive, combined with 3DNPC, will probably reach a limit of stability.

 

Face Masks of Skyrim = Redundant: Included in Wet and Cold mod

 

Thats all i can think of at the moment, i am noticing a lot of mods that do the same thing so no doubt conflict with each other, or simply will override the other, making it redundant.

 

 

You need a Bash Patch

Run it - Scroll right to the bottom on the left pane window, right click on Bash patch,0 - click on Rebuild Patch - on the next window that pops up, click on skip, then on the next window click on Build Patch

 

Note: ensure you have Run Loot before build a Bash Patch.

 

 

Note: 3DNPC is probably 1 of the causes for your issues, if not the cause, recommend disabling it, until you have a more sensible mod setup.

I had a similar problem. The hang caused the Amazing Follower Tweaks mod, when used by the follower the Nordic arrows. After stopping the transfer of arrows to the follower, the problem disappeared.

I had the freezing issues before 3DNPC and Keep It Clean, so I don't believe they are the main issues...

I did everything else, though, and the game CTD when i tried to fast travel to Lakeview Manor. However, it was an old save, and I will try to start a new one later.

I don't have any followers, ever. I dislike company :smile:

The only reason I have this mod to make people follow me into specific places and leave them there.
