hallowmann111
Hi, I messed up my game after experimenting with a few mods and as I had a version of my gamefolder backed up I thought the quickest solution would be to replace the game folder with said back up. Vortex will prompt the window where it says manual changes have been made and I could save the changes or revert them and it also offers to keep the newest version of all identical files. As I have no way of pinpointing what exactly I broke I went for save the changes but the program gets stuck for all eternity "deploying mods". I googled the issue and found people having similar issues (also related to backups) but the thread is from a while back and not from this forum. Is there something I can do? Can I maybe save the changes bit by bit somehow and not all at once? Vortex is basically unusable for me until this is resolved and that is sad because so far I liked it a lot and I am not really looking forward to reinstalling everything. But in case this is my only way out: Is there a way to save/export/import my load order rules so that I don't have to do all that again? HadToRegister
You went and made everything much harder for yourself by doing that. All you had to do was PURGE your mods with VortexNow what you've got is an even bigger mess that Vortex can't fix now.For future referenceTo turn on PURGESETTINGS----------->INTERFACE---------->Enable Advanced Mode
hallowmann111
Ok, guess I have to learn the hard way most of the time. Thanks for your reply!
rmm200
If you lose files not managed by Vortex, start with what HadToRegister said and Purge to back off your mods. Then restore your game files as needed. Probably better to just let Steam Validate. You don't ever want to restore files managed by Vortex after a Purge. Finally - Deploy from Vortex - and all should be good again.
