Naaarga
Hello, so i've recently started a skyrim modded session, I fixed the many bugs that happened to me the best as I could but I often face this bug where when I try to leave a building with a follower I just get a black screen indefinitly and have to open the task manager to close the game. It happened to me in my earlier saves with Farkas during the companion questline. I " fixed " this by dismissing my follower right before entering a building or just tell them to stay outside, then I can leave without problems. But it is kinda annoying because I don't know if it will block me later in the main quest. I suspect that it also has to do with either a follower's questline ( in my case at the moment, Serana) or Skyrim capped at 2GB ram.* Here's my load order : 0 0 Skyrim.esm 1 1 Update.esm 2 2 Dawnguard.esm 3 3 HearthFires.esm 4 4 Dragonborn.esm 5 5 Lanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esm 6 6 Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp 7 7 SMIM-SE-Merged-All.esp 8 8 ELFX - Exteriors.esp 9 9 Skyrim Flora Overhaul.esp 10 a EnhancedLightsandFX.esp 11 b Cutting Room Floor.esp 12 c dD - Enhanced Blood Main.esp 13 d ELFX - Weathers.esp 14 e Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp 15 f Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp 16 10 SkyUI_SE.esp 17 11 dD-Dragonborn-Dawnguard-EBT Patch.esp 18 12 ScopedBows_EagleEyeTweak.esp 19 13 ScopedBows_ArrowTweaks.esp 20 14 Correctif Special.esp 21 15 Skyrim Immersive Creatures Special Edition.esp 22 16 MarriageModSE.esp 23 17 Immersive Weapons.esp 24 18 ScopedBows.esp 25 19 Bijin_AIO 2018.esp 26 1a Bijin NPCs.esp 27 1b KS Hairdo's.esp 28 1c Bijin Wives.esp 29 1d Elemental Atronachs Reborn.esp 30 1e RoyalElven.esp 31 1f Leave Combat.esp 32 20 Immersive Patrols II.esp 33 21 My Home Is Your Home.esp 34 22 Skysan_ELFX_SMIM_Fix.esp 35 23 Bijin Warmaidens.esp 36 24 Serana.esp 37 25 Valerica.esp 38 26 CBBE.esp 39 27 WetandCold.esp 40 28 AutoHideAmmo.esp 41 29 HelmetToggle.esp 42 2a No NPC Greetings.esp 43 2b RichMerchantsSkyrim_x2.esp 44 2c VioLens SE.esp 45 2d dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp 46 2e Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim.esp 47 2f spell_amnesia_SSE.esp 48 30 Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp 49 31 Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul.esp 50 32 Immersive Citizens - OCS patch.esp 51 33 Realistic AI Detection 2 SE - Medium Interior, Medium Exterior.esp 52 34 ELFXEnhancer.esp Hope you can help me. saurusmaximus
It sounds like you are running out of memory. I'm assuming you have SKSE installed? If not, do so, otherwise make sure you have the memory edits in your skse.ini file: [Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=512 <--Start here and increase by 128, up to 1024, until you get a stable gameScrapHeapSizeMB=256 <--Don't touch this setting You should also get the enb binaries and setup your enblocal.ini to enable your system to use more memory. Hope this helps. **Edit: I should've asked, how much RAM do you actually have installed in your system? How much VRAM?
Naaarga
Thanks for you reply. I can't test your suggestions right now but I can tell you I have 8GB of RAM and 6GB of VRAM. I'll get on it when I can. Thank you for your time and your reply. And yes I have skse.

Thank you very much for resolving my problem and dedicating some of your time for it. Hope you are doing well, and thank you again !
Pippboss
You dont exactly have an excessive load order so my best guess is Skyrim is running out of RAM. Do the memory hack as suggested above, Can also try a mod called Crash fixes. That has built in memory patch that allows you to force your OS to manage your memory rather than Skyrim, (Far as I understand it).https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725 can also find a great tutorial/overview of how that actually works at Dirtyweaselmedia's youtube channel in his 2016 modding guide. The above applies to only Skyrim Legendary edition) One question I do have though is are you running SSE (Skyrim special edition) Or Skyrim LE? This is the LE Forum. Don't mix mods from one game up with mods from the other. However if you are running SSE you'll need a mod called SSEEngine fixes https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230 which I understand does the same thing for Skyrim special edition. Check out your load order with LOOT and check your mods are clean with XEdit (You may need to search youtube for some up to date tutorials on cleaning mods with https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/164 or https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859 depending on which game you are running. Also worth going through every single mod in your load order and double check you have all the required mods for each mod. Then make sure you have all the requirements for all them other mods you may be forced to install. You might want too investigate the possibility of upgrading to 16gb of RAM. hope it helps Edited April 16, 2019 by Pippboss

But you were right too it had something to do with RAM. I enabled the SKSE memory patch and it was all good. Thank you for your reply though I really appreciate it. Edit : Well tried to play a bit, seems I don't have the black screens anymore but now when I get teleported randomly when I try to leave certain buildings , guess I'll have to fix this too Edited April 16, 2019 by Naaarga
Pippboss
Yea now it time to check mod requirements it may pad out your load order abit but more important will be the actual load order itself. Mod cleaning and the likes. Also test the load order with a new charachter dont try continue any play through untill you have a stable load order. Even then, after you finished tinkering the old play through MAY be toast. Last thing ill say is thisLOOT download it.
