Guest deleted34304850
if you had to reinstall your mods after updating vortex then you did it wrong.
rmm200
It helps if you understand the error you are getting. The best discussion on access violations I have found is: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-fix-error-0xc0000005-on-windows-10 Note: Just read this article. Don't run out and try everything it says. The one I recommend is running the Windows memory diagnostic. You can't hurt yourself, and corrupt memory can cause this. HadToRegister
2.) Kinda hard to update when the application won't open. Download Vortex 0.17.11 from Nexusmods and install it. You don't have to push an update button to do that. I'm a little reluctant, as the last time I did this I wound up having to reinstall all of my mods.... but I'll continue to search and reserve this as a nuclear option. You could have a corrupted .NET framework install, Visual C++ packages, etc Run SFC Good Luck.

Guest deleted34304850
possibly a bad installation, coupled with the fact that you clean out your registry with ccleaner. of course, you can ignore this if you like, but I will say that there's quite a few contributors to these support forums who don't use registry cleaners, and didn't have the issue you reported. it may be coincidence, but computers, by and large, don't work with coincidence.i would honestly, steer clear of products like that, because they are nothing more than a placebo. but its your system and im glad that a fresh install seems to have resolved your initial issue.question for you - after running the custom installer - what is the status of your mods? you said in another post you had to redo all your mods after an upgrade. is that still the case now? Just as an aside, I'm not using CCleaner as a performance mod, I use it to clean up after Windows updates and software uninstalls. It also gives me a decent idea of what maybe fouled up software wise. If I'm getting orphaned registry entries from an application that's supposed to be working or one that was working, then something is amiss

rmm200
Wednesdays are the worst days for me to install anything. (follows Patch Tuesdays)Too often to be coincidence, my computer is unreliable if Microsoft has updates pending. Applications fail, installs fail.Every time the fix has been to reboot and let Microsoft's updates complete. After that - everything works fine again. Well - except that time Microsoft's update bricked my computer.
