Vortex not installing all mods correctly

Bit of a confusing one this. When I install my mods, half of them actually install and the other half don't. Some of them do "install" but are 0 bytes in size. When I deploy and enable them in Vortex, only some of them actually get enabled ingame and I have to open SSE and manually enable from the mods setting.

An example is SkyUI. SkyUI is the first thing I downloaded. I installed it, then deployed it. Activated it in my plugins list. I go ingame via SKSE64 and SkyUI isn't activated. I go to the main menu, hit mods, load order, and SkyUI is there in the load order, but not enabled. I enable it, I go back ingame, still not there. I check my SSE /data/ folder and SkyUI.esp is there, but its size is 0 kb. I have to manually extract from the SkyUI archive in the Vortex downloads folder and drag it across to my game data folder, then it works.

But this only happens with some mods. Other mods work. Majestic Mountains, Apocalypse Magic, Live Another Life, they all worked. Some didn't install correctly, like SkyUI, Build Your Noble House and Ordinator.

In Vortex it says they are installed. I've tried reinstalling, doesn't work. I've tried disabling and enabling, doesn't work. Yes, I deployed. In the Vortex plugins list, they are listed as enabled. In Skyrim, they are not enabled.

When I try to sort with LOOT inside Vortex, it says 'Better Harvesting.esp is not a valid plugin', yet when I sort with LOOT standalone, it works fine with no errors.

Not sure why Vortex isn't working. Any ideas?

Don't try and mix Bethesda's mod management with NMM or Vortex.

Just use ONE, otherwise you'll just fight a never ending cycle

Enabling the mod inside the game using Bethesda's mod interface won't change the plugin.txt that vortex uses in C:\users\<NAME>\appdata\Local\<GAME NAME>

So when you exit the game, Vortex will still think the mod isn't installed.

If you're getting Invalid Plugin, then I think your download might be corrupt and you should download those mods again
