Extremely Annoying, Possibly Dangerous Ads

First of all, let's get this out of the way:

I am not a supporter because I don't have the money to spare to become one. Being a fulltime student doesn't lend itself to having money to throw around. I understand that this means I have to put up with ads on the sides of the page, and I even click on a few to help support the site in any way I can.

BUT:

Today, while I was trying to find a file to download, every time I browsed to a new page, I would get anywhere from 4-6 popups in mozilla firefox, and the page I browsed to would get redirected to some ad page which was just one huge blue dollarsign and some advertisement.

When I got fed up with it and decided to use Google Chrome to view the site (which blocks all the annoying popups without fail, and doesn't allow redirecting) I got a warning from Chrome that indicated the site it was trying to redirect to contained possibly malicious code, possibly even key-loggers.

I have dis-continued my use of this site until this can be resolved. I have checked my PC for malware and anything that might have caused this problem on my end, and there is nothing like that.

Dark0ne, you might want to have a talk with your advertising company, as it stands right now a user can't safely browse your site if he is not a supporter.

EDIT - It seems this blue dollar sign ad is not the only one it redirects to, tried it again to get the URL, and I got an ebay one instead.

However, this is still unacceptable. There is no way to navigate away from the ad-page it redirects to to get back to the site you were trying to visit, without hitting the back button. And when you hit the back button it re-loads the previous page, and the damn redirect script happens again.

Quite simply, the site is unbrowsable atm.

Sure that must be it. I must have no idea what I'm talking about.

Don't listen to him. Its happening to me too, I just came to this forum to make a new topic if the already isn't one. I got that stupid page with the huge dollar sign on it. It also gave me an ad for some e-dating garbage. Then besides that it asked me to participate in some stupid survey or something. I X'ed out of it, but it just kept coming back. I exited Firefox to make a post on the forums about this problem. Now that I know there could be possibly keyloggers I'm not going onto the site until those ads are gone.

Can't talk much right now as I'm busy, but it was an attempt at a new advertiser that sort of talks for itself. Adcode removed. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Thanks a lot Dark0ne, you've got an excellent site here, and I would hate to have to use something else.

Robin is really good about taking care of his site and it's members. I'm very pleased with him for that because quite frankly there is nothing else, not with the functionality and ease of use this site has anyway. Thanks Dark, you are the man.

I had one yesterday. Can't remember what it was, I think it was something with "Spywarehater" or something.

With a message in huge text saying "This site could potentially harm your computer"

Capture the link if you can and post it here, Dark0ne will take care of it. The adds are in a random order and difficult to nail down without specifics.
