Vortex vs cbp

I started using NMM less than 3 months ago, and missed the whole "support going away" thing, and was taken by surprise by it. I had a setup that was mostly stable w 133 or so mods using NMM w sse. I dragged/dropped everything then did import from NMM (I now realize that may not have been the optimal method). I then resolved everything and got FNIS and SSE64 set up. Everything seems to be working as good or better (stability has definitely improved) than before, and the whole process was much less painful than browsing the web had led me to believe it would be. I am still pretty much a neophyte at the whole modding skyrim deal (as a retired programmer I am frankly amazed at the quality/breadth of what the mods can do! Kudos to both the modders and games creators for making it possible!)

My problem is I can not get the 'bounce" in the game I had before, clothed or unclothed. I am using a UNP/racemenus base and had it working before with NMM. I have tried switching back and for between the collision and non-collision versions of CBP, also starting a new game to no avail. Any pointers on what to try next would be appreciated. I used LOOT when I used NMM fwiw. I am posting here because literally the only thing that changed is NMM vs Vortex (ie no mods added or removed).

i'm not really sure this is a vortex issue, as you claim that your mods are all installed and you have a stable game.

i'd advise you to create the same/similar post on the mod page, and see if the mod author, or another user of that mod can give you advice.

from a vortex perspective, all i can ask is - is the mod installed in your game and enabled? is it in the correct place in your load order (vortex uses LOOT internally, so no need to use LOOT outside of Vortex).

Thanks for the quick response, modes are installed (and reinstalled, always first thing i try :) along with reinstalling anything else that seems like it might be related). Load order is definitely where I suspect the issue is, but my knowledge is at the "do what LOOT says" level... I read elsewhere that LOOT+NMM can give different results than Vortex. Will definitely also post on the mods.

i would ask the mod author or ask on the mod page about the position in the load order.

if you find that your mod is not in the correct place in the load order, come back here and give a bit of information about that because that can be resolved really easily with vortex.

Turns out it was an SUE (stupid user error). I got too excited and skipped the last part of the directions, the deactivating/purging NMM files. It is working now (FWIW the amount of work required after the purge was high, lots of reinstalling)

A kudos for you.

It's always nice for someone to come back and let everybody know exactly what the problem was and how they fixed it.

Much appreciated! :)
