And neither Windows Defender, nor Avast have the ransomware feature, well for the latter it's more not available until I pay which I can't afford as of now. You don't have the ransomware setting in Windows Defender because you're running a 3rd party AV. I believe controlled folder access is independent of which a/v you are running...... I'm running Kaspersky, and because of that, I can't get to the setting of Windows Defender because Windows is "OK" with Kaspersky running everything.So I can't get to the Folder Access as per the Windows Defender instructions. XDolpers Posted August 28, 2021 Share Posted August 28, 2021 Thanks a lot man If the message you're talking about is the one I think it is you need to add the exception to the "Windows Defender"->"Ransomware Protection"->"Controlled Folder Access" settings. If that doesn't help: What game are you modding? Could you test if you're getting the same problem when using hardlink deployment (requires staging folder to be on the same drive as the game, doesn't matter which game you test with this) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
