lertch01
Several days ago I started experiencing weird ctd and in-game glitches such as ctd on loading any save file. In the process of disabling mods one by one to track the culprit down I started getting many external file change notifications that eventually crashed vortex. I even had to re-verify the base game files from Steam as 4 of them had become corrupted. In the process of uninstalling everything I found some crash dmp file while I was hunting around in \users\appdata\. After some research and trial and error I have determined that the presence of Vortex causes the DipAwayMode.exe (an ASUS Suite app) to crash when my comp is booted up. At the present time if I attempt to use Vortex to manage Skyrim Se I will eventually get to a point where i cant access save games. The last try only had Alternate Start LaL and Finis loaded. All of the above is just an FYI as i will be moving on to something that doesn't cause such headaches. Cheers p.s. My uninstall of vortex ( I think I did that 4 times in the last 2 days) was all done per a post on this forum as follows - inside vortex, "purge" for all games you manage- uninstall vortex- delete %APPDATA%\vortex- delete ProgramData\vortex if it exists (which is if you ever used vortex shared mode)- delete all non-standard mod/download directories you used p.p.s All external file change prompts are "save" and never "revert", again as per a post on this forum. So your Asus Suite has a problem with Vortex but it's Vortex's fault, even though I've seen it being the Asus, and MSI suites that are the actual cause of the problem such as the Overlay not working in Steam etc. But hey, I won't stop you from jumping on the "Let's hate Vortex Bandwagon" and then let you come in here to tell everybody you're uninstalling Vortex like a grown up wouldn't do.Anyway, thanks for the rant
rmm200
Make sure you have the most current copy of Asus AI Suite installed. Get it from the Asus support site.Your problems with that application will not end with your uninstalling Vortex.
