Help understanding a cyclic issue?

So, I got the following mods:

- Relationship Dialogue Overhaul

- Follower Commentary Overhaul

I saw that there's a patch for those 2 specifically (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/25647) and grabbed it

The patch's description says:

"Load Order:
Make sure FCO loads after RDO, then my patch after both of them. Incorporate any other patches for these mods as you normally would.

Relationship Dialogue Overhaul.esp
FCO - Follower Commentary Overhaul.esp
RDO-FCO Patch.esp (flagged as an esl to save your plugin space)"

Simple enough. I let them autosort first and it places FCO early in the Load Order (48) and RDO much later (383). Except when I make a rule for FCO to load after RDO, I get a cyclic error that says this:

https://gyazo.com/fe893b2f687f606226cb96fa5acd718a

I'm not a Vortex expert, but it looks like that is saying that I made a rule for RDO to load after FCO? I double checked and no, the rule I made was for FCO to load after RDO

Any help with what the issue is?

How did you make the rule, because, someone else is saying the exact same thing on the mod page, that they made a rule for RDO to load AFTER FCO.

And according to the error message that's what it says.

If you make a rule on the PLUGINS tab, you have to pay careful attention, because there's only the LOAD AFTER option, you have to use the Arrow Button (The arrows that point two different ways to swap the rule around in order to swap the Plugins.

Example, the MANAGE RULES Pop up

Now, if you put RDO in the Left hand box at the bottom, and FCO in the right hand box, the Box in the middle that says SELECT has "MUST LOAD AFTER", "REQUIRES" and "IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH"

So if you put LOAD AFTER, that means that RDO will LOAD AFTER FCO.

(You also get this pop up, when you Drag one Plugin icon to another.)

The trick is, is to hit that button with the two arrows facing different directions.
What this does is swaps the plugins around.

Say you make the rule

RDO MUST LOAD AFTER FCO (well, that's wrong, so what you do, is hit that double arrow button, and Vortex swaps it around so your rule is now)

FCO MUST LOAD AFTER RDO

Then you hit ADD.

The way to get rid of your rule is to click on the Circle with the Horizontal Line Through it that shows after your rule.

gif of my making the rule in the Plugins:

i still get the cyclic issue that i linked in the first post which says I'm telling RDO to load after FCO

Edit: I tried doing it the other way, starting it with telling RDO to load after FCO and then hitting the arrow button to reverse them, but still get the cyclic issue

Something is up with these 2 mods

Looks like this will have to be brought up on the LOOT Discord server.

Especially if the Mod Author insists his Mod be loaded a certain way with another mod.

I had to do this the other night, they were pretty fast about changing a rule
