gamefever
I see posts here and there that make claims that the Sounds series crashes the game but... I'm pretty sure that when my game crashes it's a combination of things outside of the authors control. IE I have the wrong graphics settings, too many textures or meshes, and a new likely culprit too many script demanding mods in my load order. But from what I can see when I unpack the few that I have they are just .wav files with an esp. Soo what gives... Even Boss makes the claim that the mods crash the game yet I've played some characters to lvl 20 or so without much crashing until sooner or later I get too many scripted mods kicking in and bam every 10 minutes or less. I'm curoius as to the validity of the claims and Im wondering if the author IDK pissed in someone's wheaties cereal and got black labeled by the Boss guys or something. Rabbit1251
The Sounds of Skyrim Civilizations caused excessive saved game bloat eventually leading to frequent crashes and corrupt files. There are several ongoing threads throughout the forums addressing this issue if you need more information. Rabbit
Georgiegril
Well the author expressly stated he felt that several of the SOS modules were causing game bloat. He also stated that there was no evidence this was occurring in SOS the wilds, but recommended that it be removed just in case. I have been using only the wilderness version since the beginning, have no save bloat, did not uninstall as he recommended...still no save bloat. I really wish he would reconsider and put the wilds version back on the nexus. I love it and can't imagine skyrim without it. I suspect he got tired of people giving him tirades, as people sometimes do. I don't fault him for withdrawing the mod, but I sure wish there was a way to convince him to post just that one. gamefever
Ahh, thank you for the responses. Yes I did try a search in the forums this morning before posting this, I came up empty handed. I'm asking becuase I'm trying to optimize my game you see.I've currently over 130 pluggins and some texture mods but my computer is by no means a beast. So I've finally got my FPS into the 50's by optimising my ini files, graphic settings, video card, and now I'm looking at cutting away mods. So I was thinking if I should put the SOS series on the chopping block so to speak I still get crashes at 50 FPS. I guess I'll remove them and keep cutting away till I can get stability. Going to start looking at mods that use scripting I bet I'm overloading papyrus.
