OK, in your DATA folder, do you have a file called vortex.deployment.json?

If so, rename it to something else and start Vortex
I usually do something like vortex.deployment.json.derp

Okay, renamed it to vortex.deployment.what.who.

Now, run vortex, then run your game, is the ghost stuff still showing up?

The ghost building LOD and the textures are still there.

You must still have a virtual, or hardlink somewhere that still exists.
When you uninstalled, did you also remove your C;\users\YOUR NAME\Documents\My Games\Skyrim folder too?

Nope, I didn't remove that folder. Got it open right now. It has the Bash files, SKSE, Saves, Logs, and something called BethIniCache along with some ini files.

Do you already have mods installed?

If not, then rename that one too

I got a bunch installed.

Before you installed all those mods, did you start the game mod free, and see those ghost mods in the game?

You can PURGE them (It's non destructive)

If you purge them and go into the game and the ghost things are still there, then you've got virtual links going somewhere with MO2

I purged and the game was...broken, lol. Missing meshes and textures, broken animations, and a mess. Couldn't even get into the helgan gates.

OK, that's not right, because the game should just go back to vanilla when you purge.

Hopefully you started a NEW game after the purge and didn't load a previous save?

I purged and made a new game.

So, with the Purge, and a New game, your game is missing textures and broken?

If so, then your base game install is completely messed up.

Which would explain your frustration.

Adding mods on top of a bad foundation is just going to make thing worse.

I think you need to remove all the mods, competely remove the entire SKyrim folder by uninstalling it, and rename the Skyrim folder in C:\users\NAME\Documents\My Games\Skyrim to something like SKyrim OLD, and start clean.

Will do that now. Should I remove the vortex mods as well, in staging and download?
