Kraeten
Can't say I'm all that impressed, but I will be interested in seeing what modders do with the new resources.
David Brasher
When people discuss the high cost of things like Dawnguard and Hearthfire, I laugh. They are dirt cheap. Anyone can afford them. (At least anyone who owns a $800-$2000 computer capable of playing Skyrim should not be worrying about a $20 piece of software putting them into the poor house.) It is reasonable to discuss whether or not you like what is in a new DLC or whether you think it will will be so buggy that it is like Dawnguard, but I think it is ridiculous for anyone to say they won't buy the DLC because they are expensive. Patrick2me
I almost certain the Bethesda has been planing Heartfire from week one. It shouldn't be much of a surprise. Look at 1:46 From the looks of it someone at Bethesda had already made all the core components of the dlc within the first week. omnimuffin
Besides, it looks like there's a good deal more customization involved in Hearthfire than in Build Your Own Home (Or whatever it's called.) Plus, adoption would be nice- Alvor and Sigrid died in a dragon attack and Dorthe's all alone and sad and it's a huge bummer.
Burnout122812
Yea, they planned this since week 1. But i'm cool with that...its a nice thing for fans on all platforms to enjoy! Darios81
I like the idea, building a house from the scratch, gathering materials and stuff. Would be interesting to know if we will be able to dig mines/underground hideouts. but I will be interested in seeing what modders do with the new resources. this! Burnout122812
There was a mod that allowed you to "build a house" but it was with already laid out plans. This in "Hearthfire" will allow you to probably decide dimensions (still limited) and where and material (rock or mud)...at least i'm guessing. Anyone also notice (and i'm sure you have) that "Hearthfire" is also the 2nd month in which the game starts at. 17th of Last Seed (game start) and the following month is "Hearthfire". Nice touch Bethesda. Edited August 29, 2012 by majikku22
doctorhr2
At least this shows Bethesda are still supporting Skyrim, although I didn't expect more DLC so soon after Dawnguard. I'm looking forward to it!
Tzontlimixtli
At least this shows Bethesda are still supporting Skyrim, although I didn't expect more DLC so soon after Dawnguard. I'm looking forward to it! Same, but it could well just be something small to keep us from nagging them about something bigger they could be working on. :'D Another thing. It's only the first two DLCs that are Microsoft exclusive, right? Second DLC isn't even going to cost £5, only adds houses and such. Not exactly the greatest DLC in terms of reeling in money, just a nice touch. I expect Microsoft were expecting something bigger to keep dibs on. Nice move, Bethesda, nice move. kili202
i'm fairly certain that this dlc will be useful in the rescources it will bring, not the actual dlc itself. hopefully it will bring in some elements that will make it possible to make a better, more refined and varied village mod such as using these rescources to make a village that you can build from the ground, with every house individually customiseable and completely dynamic to choices you make in a quest or something. i see potenetial in using this dlc alongside a storyline to make a really good mod that will really hammer home a sense of consequence, along with looking very professional because the house building comes straight from bethesda.
