I have invested 466 hours into Skyrim.

Funny to be reading this at the very moment my wife walks up to me and says "Skyrim again, eh?... see you next spring". I spent the summer outside as much as possible and rebuilding a car. Now that summer is over with the leaves are falling its time to come inside. I am finally downloading Dawnguard, now I am looking forward to a new build or maybe resurrecting an unfinished one. I could keep up the project car but I need a distraction to curb the spending.

I can see myself getting back into Oblivion unless Beth releases a huge expansion (7 months of indoor weather).

I'm seriously tempted to try Morrowind, but I'm a little worried I'd get lost in it.

If you've not played it then you really should give it a look, it's a deep world filled with lore and with the right mods the game can look lovely. It's much slower than Oblivion and Skyrim and it's also a lot less forgiving, it's not like DS but you can't go charging around killing everything in sight. The combat is very different, it's based on character skill rather than player skill, you can't even hit enemies if your character is useless. The differences are listed here http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Oblivion_for_Morrowind_players That list also shows just how much Bethesda take away with each new game.

After reading through the list I'd have to question whether the things taken out of Oblivion and Skyrim from Morrowind was to the game's advantage rather than detriment. It seems far more logical to me that your skill levels would reflect how well you could do something, rather than whether it could be done at all. I couldn't see a single thing on the Morrowind list that I thought was lacking from the other games. Purely a matter of preference of course.

Look again.

Not to mention all of the cut things from Oblivion to Skyrim.

You mistake me. Not playing with mods. Making mods. The mods you say are missing, that might be your niche.

The mods I say are missing are the most requested cut features from Sky, or are you saying I should make these mods?

Yup. Making mods can be much more fun than playing the base game - It is also just as addictive and you might even learn something in the process. Making mods is not for everyone, and there is a steep learning curve if you have never done any programming or computer 3d model making. The hard part is actually getting started.

yeah that for sure I tried to start making my own player home with the creation kit and gave up after 2h im to stupid for stuff like that and not creative enough so making mods or so is nothing for me at all. Even if I tught that may be the only way for me to make something that adds to a game cuz that always been a dream to make games and making mods are the closet thing I think I would ever get to making stuff for a game.

Well, I decided one thing I would do is release an old mod I did for Oblivion. It's not lore-friendly, but who cares.. It's a combat music mod. Way back when, I used to be an Industrial recording artist. Did 10 albums for limited release. It would work better for FO, but who cares. I thought it was fun to have pumping Industrial music come on when I did my combat in Oblivion :)

I've been tempted to do some armor mods, too, but it's still a time factor. I only did my modding for me. Hell, I don't think I ever released my armor texture mods I did for Morrowind.

One thing I was considering was an Illusion spell mod, but just not sure I want to put the time into it. In Oblivion, you could rule the game with Illusion and Alteration magic. Just go invisible through the Oblivion Planes, and use Levitate to get into the towers :)

Pfft, I'm not doing Beth's work for them.
