soflegee
Hiya, I'm having some problems getting Skyrim SE going again. I have read and tried all suggestions on the same subject.... I've Just come back to it after a break and I have reinstalled it. So after that I pop on some basic mods but once enabled The SKSE launcher would not launch the game, not even to the menu just a black screen pops up then gone....nothing. Disabled them all and it runs via SKSE launcher, slowly started enabling them and manged 2 or so then it started not loading again. Getting really confused now as I've done this a million times and its always worked. pretty sure im using the same mods too. The error message I also get when loading vortex is Failed to update masterlist so then I click on more: "This might be a temporary network error. If it persists, please delete "C:\Users\Chaz\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrimse\masterlist" to force Vortex to download a new copy." This path does not exist. Upon pressing more details it gives: LOOT operation "updateMasterlist" failed: Git operation failed. Details: -1; corrupted loose reference file: refs/remotes/origin/v0.14: libgit2 error anyone have any ideas ive already reinstalled both programmes? Thanks ! rmm200
Use Steam to validate your game directory. Start Skyrim SE once through Steam. Your version of SKSE64 must exactly match the version of Skyrim SE you are running.Get this going with no mods first. The version of each mod that uses SKSE64 must exactly match that version.Add these one at a tme and make sure they work.Other mods should really not have version dependencies - but make sure you have all the prerequisites loaded. Mostof this has been done already. SKSE is newest one available and Skyrim SE is newest one available. I would have thought that should match? Mods have all bits installed that need one another (if that makes sense). I've done this so many times before and never had problems. Not sure whats wrong with this update masterlist though

This is ridiculous, in a really bad mood now grr! One more mod you need to install from now on... Skyrim EXE Auto BackupIt will automatically make a backup of your Skyrim EXE when it detects a Steam update, so that you can use the OLD exe and play the game until SKSE, and all the mods that are dependent on it are updated. There's one for Fallout 4 as well.
