Help Understanding Install/Uninstall Mod Vortex 0.18.9

I am currently modding Skyrim Special Edition using Vortex 0.18.9 on Windows 10 Pro with 32GB RAM. I currently have 0 mods installed with approximately 130-145 mods uninstalled. Some of those mods are removed meaning that the archive was deleted.

This post is merely a request for help understanding the plugins page after mods have been uninstalled. In the majority of cases after uninstallation the accompanying plugins vanish from the plugins page which is good positive feedback that my mod has been uninstalled. However, in a handful of cases even though the mod has been uninstalled from the mods page the plugin remains on the plugin page and is marked as enabled. A specific example is Arthmoor's Alternate Start - Live Another Life. In the case of Immersive Citizens I not only uninstalled the mod but also removed the archive but the Immersive Citiizens plugins remained behind. In the case of Immersive Citizens I actually had to go into the Skyrim SE Data folder and deletel the ESM and ESP for Immersive Citizens manually.

My question is if these mods are really uninstalled correctly despite the plugins remaining behind?

the MOD is uninstalled, but the plugin isn't.
Which can happen if you do something like edit the plugin in Xedit, and then tell Vortex to SAVE CHANGES, when you do that, the plugin gets written to the data directory instead of having a HardLink to it.
I use that feature a lot because I edit my ESPs a LOT.

Thank you for the reply. I am new to modding and have not yet learned how to use Xedit. In the case of those speciffic examples all I did was install them and uninstall them. Is there anything else that could create this situation?

Not exactly sure, but, for the sake of experimenting and determining if Vortex is having a problem SPECIFIC to those two mods, manually delete them from the DATA folder, then install and uninstall them a couple of times to see if Vortex consistently leaves the ESP and ESMs behind, or if it was just a 'glitch'

If it consistently leaves those ESPS and/or ESMs behind, then I'd report it as a bug.

@HadToRegister - Thank you. I deleted any file with the name Alternate Start - Live Another Life from the Data folder as you suggested. I then installed it. Tested that it was working. Uninstalled it and the plugins were removed after un-installation. I am simply so new to this and Vortex I didn't know that those plugins weren't supposed to be left behind like that. I have about 10 plugins left behind in the plugin folder for which the mod has been uninstalled. Not knowing how this happened I should go ahead and manually delete them from the Data folder?

I have been looking at them and trying to figure out what they might all have in common. I think (but am not 100% certain on this) that they were all imported from NMM when I first started using Vortex. Could that have any connection?

Yes, that is most likely the cause as to why those were left behind
