Better backup your ini files before deploying (at least for FO4)

I am glad a fix for this is posted but I didn't even get the chance to see if my FO4 install was corrupted because now Vortex is saying "This app cannot run on your PC". Apparently my install of Vortex is completely hosed as a result of this.

And you came to the conclusion that this is specifically your problem how?

This problem is completely unrelated to how Vortex runs.

This problem had to do with messing up the INI file of Bethesda games.

 

Having a messed up ini file, won't give that message, as a matter of fact, all the game will do is generate a new ini file, if you delete or rename the old one.

 

So do this, rename or delete your ini file, and start the game, it will regenerate a new ini file

This trick has been know for YEARS.
