Hello!

I have had a working installation of Skyrim SE for quite some time, ~255 Plugins(never more than); ~370 mods in total and ENB.

New update for Skyrim SE is lingering on Steam, I did not install it though; seeing to as I normally wait for the mods to catch up. I did however install the newest version of Vortex... Is Vortex somehow linked to a specific SkyrimSE.exe version? If so, can I downgrade?

The errors which occur are as follows - I set up my mods how I like them... save the game... nothing wrong; everything works. HOWEVER, when I load the game I JUST saved, it goes completely bonkers and tries to install every mod once more, as if they were never installed in the first place, and the character goes bald, the eyes turn black, screen flickering and so forth. Often it just CTDs now...

I installed no new mods, activated no new plugins since I last played and it worked.... anyone help with this?

PS: I like Vortex! It has worked brilliantly thus far :-)

No, Vortex, nor any mod manager is "exe locked' to a particular version of any game they manage.

Your game is going bonkers because you have 370 mods

I have had those mods installed for a long time. Thanks for the info! Edit: I noticed that Melt Down Everything made it all go insanely slow for some reason, and seem to remember that he wrote something about enabling it after choosing your "destiny" in the Alternate Start mod. After disabling MDE, I experienced almost instant loading times and no trouble saving. The weird thing is it only happened after updating Vortex as the only thing new, don't know why. Sorry for clogging up the forum with this; really did think it had something to do with Vortex ^_^

Yea, not exactly a good idea to enable a mod AFTER you've started a gamer.

But thanks for coming back and detailing what happened, rather than the usual "NVM Fixed It!" posts :D
