Enarlittt
Hi Guys, I'm looking to get into proper PC gaming (moving from consoles and a rubbish laptop) but I have no idea how to spec a PC so I thought I'd ask you guys for help! My budget is £900-£1050 and I would like to play most of the latest games on high settings if possible. I would also need wireless so I'm not sure if that affects which mobo or slots are used! If you think I can spend a bit more and get something better that'll be worth the extra cost, then please show me and move me away from consoles. Many thanks in advance
tekmage
You can get a good idea from pcpartpicker.
DoctorKaizeld
I suggest saving so you can get a $1500 USD build instead. Someone else is probably better then me on which parts exactly but you will get a better pc with a slightly higher base budget.
tekmage
OK, your budget is at max 1318 US dollars. Here's a configuration to consider. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xsmLhy Revised build configuration. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sLNY4q Edited July 12, 2019 by tekmage
HeyYou
I would be tempted to get a better power supply, something that has some overhead for the power demand. Maybe a 700-750 watt, GOLD certified P/S. I might also be tempted to skip the 3tb HDD, and go with a 1TB solid state as well.

You can always get more drives and getting more power then you need means you don't have to worry about upgrading it till much later on.
tekmage
@op Just a baseline to work with. Yes, I left some wiggle room on the build so you can opt for a bigger power supply, switch hard drive, etc which are all valid suggestions.
HeyYou
Yeah, I think the RX 580 wants 500 watts all by itself. :D
tekmage
@HeyYou Yeah, lot of the power usage is from the RX580 but it is a lot of card. :)

(or maybe that was the 480.....) Did that ever get resolved?
