OctaviaRemix
I'm using Vortex 0.18.12I'm trying to mod Fallout 4I've got 33 mods activatedI'm on Windows 10, 64 bit, with 8 gigs of ram, i5 7500, 1070 ti turbo I took a break from installing mods to check if anything would cause crashes in game. No crashes, but I noticed some mod features weren't appearing in game. Just to name a few, "Start Me Up", "Looks Menu Customization Compendium", and "Looks Mirror" didn't appear in game. In that I mean upon starting a new game I had no new facial customization features, the game started as normal, and once able to build there was no mirror to build. Certain mods did work from what I've found namely, "DEF_UI", "Mod Configuration Menu", and both "Idle Hands" Animation mods. These mods were easily noticeable, changing the inventory screen, showing the MCM on the pause menu, and changing my character's idle animations in game. To point out what will be an obvious fact, I am very new to vortex, but not new to modding. I watched Gopher's video tutorial before starting, and assumed I had a grasp on everything. Here's the details on what's going on IN VORTEX: (Screenshots provided as Gyazo links) 1. Mods are enabled in the mods section of the application.https://gyazo.com/4e607daa242a7bdf242a646f932690bb 2. Plugins are enabled in plugins tabhttps://gyazo.com/422d2f6ba6e480cf7d25f9b2cf70828e 3. Deploy mods when enabled is on, and was on before I started moddinghttps://gyazo.com/5e688533ee176c8c0a0736e627e898e8 4. I've tried clicking deploy mods in the mods tab just for good measure (A gif just to show what's happening. The blue loading bar is the same response I always get when pressing the button.)https://gyazo.com/b34aec9c6aa2af5e5d9c06b31afb30d4 5. Both Fallout 4, and my mod staging folder are in my C: drive. My vortex staging folder is just a folder I made directly onto the drive. Hardlink deployment is on.https://gyazo.com/cb20df405f196253db11db4578516ffc 6. The folder is having mod files downloaded into it correctlyhttps://gyazo.com/4c00017dc6a3463fd0bc634782674408 7. Just as an added bonus, here's the Fallout4Custom.ini thing that you're supposed to add before moddinghttps://gyazo.com/c13b563e139637d3769cf879c72154fc 8. Another thing to throw in, I did download f4se before all of this. I confirmed it was at least detected by typing "getf4seversion" in fallout 4's console. Got the normal response as far as I know.https://gyazo.com/bd4b0e04cdbf98e1c7eb81da52989e39https://gyazo.com/890b8a65a75838b3640cf40801a770fe Other than all of that I'm kind of at a loss for what to do. I spent 2 hours looking through the forums here, and most reputable replies boiled down to "did you deploy the mod". Understandable, since it wasn't something people had to do with NMM. As far as I'm aware however, the reply doesn't really help me in this situation. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Please help me, I'm trying to get this solved by next Monday so that a friend of mine and I can do a modded play through for old times sake. IF I DON'T RESPOND IMMEDIATELY, IT'S BECAUSE I AM AT WORK. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND PATIENCE.
BigBizkit
Did you perchance import any of the mods that aren't working correctly from NMM? Could you take a look in your data folder before/after deploying and note down the changes i.e. does the file count increase after deploying etc.? Are other mods dependent on the script extender working fine?
OctaviaRemix
1. I didn't use the import feature directly, I just manually transferred the archived mods from the NMM folders to Vortex. I did this for MOST of the mods, yes. I transferred the mods from the folder below. It seemed kinda silly to re-download every mod I wanted when they were all sitting neatly in this folder.https://gyazo.com/4bc8f9d7353876ff1c9a6e9da90a459c 2. Before deploying there are 151 files in my data folder, after deploying there are still 151. 3. The only one that I could see that is working as intended was MCM. All the others are not working as intended. I would assume that if it was directly a f4se issue that mcm wouldn't work either. Maybe I'm wrong. Thank you for the quick reply. BigBizkit
"2. Before deploying there are 151 files in my data folder, after deploying there are still 151." That indicates that there is either something wrong with the deployment per se, or the mods aren't actually installed properly. When you go to your mod staging folder, are those mods actually there? Do the folders for these mods contain files / all the files from the archives?

You transferred the archived mod from NMM to Vortex, by moving or copying them to the Vortex DOWNLOAD folder, correct?

I click and dragged the archived files from nmm's mod folder to that tab. Can't send screenshots, so I hope I'm being descriptive enough.

OctaviaRemix
UPDATE: I came home from work, opening up the Vortex application. When I opened the application I noticed a spinning symbol on the plugins tab. I opened the tab, and was completely perplexed. All of my plugins were no longer activated. Just last night all plugins were activated. I will re-link the gyazo screenshot from last night, and a new gif showing the spinning symbol, and the deactivated plugins. I have no idea how this happened, and I haven't even touched the application, the files, or opened fallout 4 since I came home. I'm going to re-activate the mods, and update here on what happens. This is both for the helpful people trying to solve my issue, and anyone who happens to have the same reaction to this common problem. I hope at the least this is entertaining. OctaviaRemix
UPDATE 2: After activating the plugins, they appeared in game where they hadn't prior. Something changed while I was at work today somehow, because last night I even tried deactivating and re-activating the plugins I was missing. With the problem seemingly solved I think my worries are over for now. I don't know how this helps anyone in the future, but do the men helping me have any insight as to why any of this would have happened?
