Adding mods on a hard drive to Vortex

I'm not sure if I posted this query twice, but cannot see it on the forum...

I recently had to wipe a hard drive with games and mods on. I since downloaded the game (fallout 4) and Vortex again. I'll also reinstall F4SE etc.

I actually have all the zip files for the mods I want on another hard drive.

My questions:

Can I simply copy these into the mod download folder vortex uses / drop them into the 'drop file(s)' window in Vortex (would I need to move them from the backup drive somewhere first to drop them into Vortex?) and install them that way, rather than download them all again?

If so, will Vortex automatically pick up the fact they are from Nexus and create whatever link it needs to check for updates when I press 'check for updates' in Vortex? Or do I need to do something for that to happen?

I'd add that most of the mods are from Nexus, a few are from elsewhere due to external dependencies.

Hope someone can help, thanks.

1. Yes

2. You will have to double-click on the MOD in the MODs Tab, which opens up a panel on the right, change the SOURCE dropdown to NEXUS MODS, then click the GUESS button that will appear near the MOD ID field below the SOURCE dropdown.

Thankyou, I did the first part ok and will do the second. Saves a lot of hassle!
