Being redirected to a different web page (virus?)

Hi folks, recently when on to the nexus mods page after about 3-4 mins i get a piercing loud BEEP in my earphones and I am being redirected to another website which is without doubt attempting to give me a virus.

It's only recently been happening but I feel rushed every time I come on nexus and browsing mods is no fun anymore. The web address on that page is different every time and I have thoroughly virus scanned my PC which didn't find any problems.

Sounds like you have a hijacker on your system, scan it for malware

I've scanned many times and found nothing wrong. This only happens on the nexus mods site. :ermm:

That looks like a classic browser hijack, you're using Firefox so should be using NoScript and AdBlock for your own safety.

Oh dear! any tips how i can get rid of it? scanning seems to yield no results.

This is not particularly good advice. NoScript will prevent pretty much every site from working properly until you add it as an exception.

 

We have a process for reporting bad adverts here. (If you think it's ad related)

 

Could you provide the URL you're being redirect to and where you are in the world?
