I can't help you with brief answers like that You have to tell me what's happening, what mods do you have installed, which mods work, which mods don't work. Were you using NMM and then switched to Vortex and are using some mods that were installed with NMM, and then installed some more with Vortex instead? I need details

Were you using NMM and then switched to Vortex and are using some mods that were installed with NMM, and then installed some more with Vortex instead? I need details sorryEvery single mod worked no problem last time I fired it up.Today I fired it up, and I *think* I alt-tabbed almost immediately, but it did work enough to play the main title music which implies to me that it was in fact working. After a bit of browsing on the internet I re-(click on to bring it as the main window) new vegas to play and it hangs. So I try and pull up task manager. Task manager won't pull up. Can't alt tab anymore. I manage to get to the alt-tab menu (when you hold down alt-tab) and highlight new vegas and click the x. after about 5 minutes it does part of the intro animation (because whatever cused it to hand stopped) and closed (presumably because I hit x during lagtime). I decide to get some new mods. Turns out NMM is no longer supported. Tell Vortex to manage new vegas. ok. it does that. I get and install some mods including an NVSE plugin manually whose only file was the plugin itself and the file folder heirarchy it needed to go in. Game won't start. Disable all the new mods, delete the new nvse plugin, and try it again. doesn't work. At some i try to launch the game exe directly and I get the Application load error 5:0000065434 error. I put steam.exe in the folder for new vegas as it is on a different drive than steam is. The error code goes away but the game crashes regardless. Can't figure out why or how to fix it. I have verified the game cache and restarted my computer several times.

It's been a while since I modded new vegas and I did it with nmm and don't want to do all that again.
HadToRegister
NMM is still supported, you can download it on the same page you downloaded Vortex from, just scroll down a little farther and pick the github versionPart of your problem is, you have some mods installed with NMM, and you have some mods installed with Vortex. And because NMM is still associated with plugins.txt, your game keeps disabling the Vortex mods because NMM still has control over the game and mods.Archive Invalidation can be turned on under SETTINGS---->WORKAROUNDS------>BSA REDIRECTION
HadToRegister
Where did you set the Mod Staging Folder to?What drive is Steam installed to?What drive is Fallout New Vegas installed to?Also, are you running Steam, Vortex, NVSE, Falloutnv.exe and FalloutnvLauncher.exe as Administrator? If so, Don't
