FYI
This is , by a far margin, the worst console port ever so it cannot be the best game of the year or even a good game.Heck , there are even resolution problems.Quite ironic that a game like this get's it's own nexus site when the developer didn't even bother cleaning their own mess. Agree totally with this.
FYI
This game was quite rightly slated for being such a poor quality port. On reflection it would take the appearance of A LOT of high quality mods to make me buy this game. At the end of the day, publishers only count the money the game makes, and if this port succeeded in any numbers it would just be a green light that says, poor quality ports are just fine. Mashintao
Bought the game for my friend and myself, planning on taking on the game as a team (it said it was multiplayer). Boy what a disappointment that was. Not only could we not play together, we could barely even play by ourselves! Had to buy two xbox controllers to get it remotely manageable. Crossing my fingers for some genius that can make dark souls function as a real co-op game. :)
Xuphra
Okay, criticizers. We get it. FromSoftware has done some lousy work on their port from console over to PC, but I cannot go as far as to say that the game is ruined, or not playable at all. I, personally bought the game on release date for both console, and for PC, and YES, the PC controls with keyboard and mouse are quite horrible. The movement is stuttering, and the keybinds are just... from another world. Despite these facts, please keep in mind that FromSoftware has little to no experience in their team with PC coding, etc etc... but yes, I agree. Some of the problems Dsfix has fixed, would seem to be incredibly stupid to even be there. For example the FPS lock, the Resolution lock, and so on... Having that said, is it really that bad all-in-all that you can't even play and enjoy the game?I got used to the keyboard features pretty fast, and with a few key-changes, it worked just fine. (I highly recommend you still using a controller though...) So please... you were promised something, and jump with joy from the news, but as soon as it is given to you with slight problematic situations, it is turned into s#*!. You're all like craving little kids. Can't you just be happy for at least have gotten it for the PC? Because hell, I am. And deep down I knew, that mods and tweaks would fix the game. Why don't we all just stop our little pathetic bitching, and get down to business; there are demon's to be killed, and you don't have a second to waste. So boot up that Souls game and have some fun. Dicks.
Skyrimsdon
Best news I've heard all day. Dark Souls has gone from rags to riches on PC. THANK YOU NEXUS AND GOD-LIKE MODDERS EVERYWHERE! Your making a tough case for a repurchase on PC.
Dark0ne
The way FromSoftware's press on the matter went, I took it as them saying "Hey guys, we recognise that you'd really like this game on the PC so we'll do it. Just to warn you, we have no clue what we're doing, so you'll get the game on the PC but it is really just going to be a direct console to PC port. Sorry about that.". They were always open about what it was going to be so when people went crazy about the release being a "dumb port" it was a bit like "well duh!". Yes, it could be way better. But it's better than nothing (it IS better than nothing), and I'd still rather play this game on my PC than on my XBox.
nofear88
Anychance for custom contect e.g weapons n armor? I know its much to ask for but that is the key difference for me in regards to PC gaming and console gaming.
Dark0ne
Not right now, nofear. Modding is just limited to texture edits. Whether that will be possible in the future, we don't know.
FaLKReN
I don't know what everyone is bitching about, I've played it through with mouse and keyboard, and well yes it's a pain in the @ss, but it is not impossible. The game is challenging anyway, so well here is another challenge: do it with far from ideal controls. Also, thank you nexus for doing one for Dark Souls!
