Moving things in Skyrim

Is there a way of moving objects around in Skyrim as one can in Oblivion or Fallout 3 using the 'Z' key?

 

I have tried to find out an answer in the game but have failed to do so.

The "E" key does what you're looking for in skyrim. Don't ask me why it's not still the "Z" key. :rolleyes:

 

There are also console commands that allow you to manipulate objects.

Just so we're clear, you have to press and hold the 'E' key for a second or two. Then the objects "sticks" until you release it by tapping 'E' again. IIRC in Fallout 3 you had to keep the 'Z' pressed for as long as you wished to hold up the object.

Since your advise is going to be extremely helpful in Skyrim, in doing what I want to get done, Kudos to both of you.

k changed my jump key from E to Y to test the grabbing and dousent work?... any help?

You need to press and hold whatever key you've bound to "use / pick up items." The default for this is E, but you can bind that to pretty much any key. You can't, however, have a separate key for "use" and "hold and move objects."
