another Ivarstead CTD - Thread

Like the topic said ... i had ctd when I try to enter Ivarstead and the surrounding area (even the "coc" inside buildings). The hole cell seems broken.
Below you can see my modlist. All enable via Modmanager, Loot sorted (no errors there). I found so many differnt threads in the internet about ctd in that cell and I tried many solutions. I deactivated all my Mods and again cdt. I used almost all Mods from the beginning and got not one ctd since I went to check "42 2a CWOGGuardArmor.esp". I found in the mods comments that some miner cities remain with the Army-Troops so I went to check ... so I found the ctd cell. I deactivated the "new" mod but still ctd. Even on older backups. I try a new gamestart (even with "live another life" mod) went there and no ctd. My mainsafe worked smooth, when I was in Ivarstead during the main quest. I did all possible quest in the game and also all of them in the Ivarstead-Cell. No ctd. To be honest ... I didn't was there for more than 100 hours of playing. I read all the moddiscriptions and comments and found no warning for conflicts.
Is there any way to check what caused the ctd? Any hints for "random users" :confused: I love this playthrough and don't want to delete over 1k of hours :sad:

First thing I would check is whether your game version & the version of USSEP (Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch) match. Arthmoor & co code USSEP to force the end user to have the most up to date version of Skyrim SE. Running mismatched game version/USSEP version together will cause CTD in/around certain cells. Had that happen on a few occasions but was lucky I kept a previous version of USSEP so I could continue to play. The only reason I'm still running 1.5.62 runtime is due to the fact that .NET Script Framework by meh321 isn't updated for the newest runtime (1.5.80).

*Edit: latest version of game and SKSE64. That should be okay
*Edit 2: I travelled around the wold. No ctd exept this cell. New game with same mods, went there, no ctd (but not finished the civil war campain). I find no hints to my mods that change anything in Ivarstead. I really run out of ideas :ohmy:

No, that's not what we're doing. Please don't play this kind of revisionist game with what we do. It irritates us when people say this sort of thing like we're out to make people do things.

 

Bethesda updates the game. Our project's functionality depends on things not being mismatched so we have to account for what they do. Otherwise for the vast majority of our users, the "product" we put out would be broken.

IMO this is a pretty weak reason not to update your game, but the good news for you is that it's also no longer a valid reason. He updated it.

I don't see anything that stands out in your load order and I've never seen reports of issues with the cells in Ivarstead before.

Just google it ... I found more than enough :ohmy: but nothing I found was usefull, because I didn't used the mods in these threads ...

Any possibility to "reset" the cell? Not der respawning NPCs reset ... I mean to put the cell to nonmoded original version? I have no clue what could caused the "broken safegame" :sad:
I found no discription of any of my mods that had something to do with Ivarstead. I ran out of options :pinch:

You should keep in mind that most mod authors pay no attention to posts found via Google that are more than a couple of months old. Everything you linked has dates back in 2017 which strongly suggests what caused it for them is no longer an issue.

 

Also just because someone posts that something crashes doesn't mean anything outside of their specific setups having a problem. If it were some kind of inherent problem with that area of the game it would have returned THOUSANDS of hits, not just a handful since it's a main quest area you have to go through to finish the MQ.
