Marieh
The musket mods require the xbow anims, I believe. So 'unrelated' is a bit of a 'misnomer'.
arcanewizard
Meh, Dawnguard is a buggy mess. You're much better off waiting. At least if you get it later, by then there should be a patch already available. I keep my own Dawnguard deactivated much of the time.you must be on a pc...i play it on the 360 and i experience really almost no bugs whatsoever...but to the op yeah dawnguard jams...its a great dlc. GodKingVivec
not really, because my access to internet is very limited. and all my friends who actually play skyrim are either in college or dont do modding. this site is about my only source of knowledge on things like this. slainia
you can get a prepaid visa/mastercard and get it that way, if it helps. that's how i ended up getting hearthfire n dawnguard this month. 25$ one covered both. (came to 24.98, and the card with tax cost 28$ total.)
Ghoulz
I could buy it myself, but I'm tired of hearing about Vampire fixes/bugs.

Calamachus
I had no real interest in vampires or werewolves and so put off getting Dawnguard. When I finally did get it, it blew me away. There is a lot more content then just the main plot line. The equipment it adds is amazing and the plotline itself can be played joining the Dawnguard which itself includes some excellent NPCs. It also adds some unrelated plots and quests - one of which has become my absolute favorite. The 'Lost to the Ages' quest line. No spoilers but it was the most immersive plot in Skyrim for me. Made me look at the rest of the game and think 'why didn't they do everything else like that?' The main plot itself takes you through some incredible locations and there is a particular dragon fight (got to think that's no spoiler) that once again raises the bar for expectations. Puts all the vanilla dragon battles to shame. I play on the PC and have noticed no bugs or issues but admittedly I installed the unofficial dawnguard patch right after I installed dawnguard. I recommend it, two thumbs up, regardless of someones interest of vampires or werewolves. I've started but not completed the game from the pro-vampire stance and have yet to go through the werewolf perk tree in any way. What it does the most is make me incredibly excited for the next DLC. Dawnguard added a lot of rich content and I'm hoping the Dragonborn DLC will do more of the same.
Clouce
TBH I am REALLY surprised that there isn't a sale this week for the one year. Ill bet you it will go on sale soonish but probably only 50% off at best. OH! Thanksgiving sale is gonna be soon! And the Christmas sale! Edit: Imo Dawnguard isn't bad but its not great. It wasn't worth the $20 I paid. I like it, and have played through it twice now. I hope/think that the new Dragonborn DLC is gonna be killer though.
