HadToRegister
I see that it is possible, with some work, to duplicate the load order I want using this tool. Why put me through that, when all Vortex needs to do is accept what is in my c:\Users\noah\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition\loadorder.txt? In use, this really doesn't seem to be a new/mid level player tool, unless you simply want to accept whatever it does, which I don't. That's your major problem right there. You're not accepting that Vortex has sorted your load order for you, and are insisting on forcing it to be like NMM My honest suggestion would be for you to go back to NMM, because you sound like you're unwilling to work WITH and learn Vortex, and I don't feel like dragging you kicking and screaming into the workings of Vortex, when you seem like you're just fighting change, which, if you spent a little bit of time with it, would stop obsessing over the 'perfect load order' and let Vortex do its job. You can download the newest version of NMM by clicking on the INSTALL VORTEX button and scrolling down the page until you see this(Be sure to click on the COMMUNITY VERSION Have Fun! soaringcow
What I want is a mod manager that reliably installs fomod mods, and that doesn't disrupt anything else. NMM is not a candidate in any case. I currently install all mods manually, even fomods. And manage my load order in Wrye Bash. It works, and I don't have ctd's or black face and Evangeline talks to me. Good enough. But I can handle change when necessary. Otherwise, if it isn't necessary, howcome? soaringcow
Been twekin with this. It looks like it would take hours to implement my load order. And then what happens if I remove follower Luna from the middle list or if I add follower Inigo to the top? Does the list automatically adjust its rules? soaringcow
I suspect most long term Bethesda players have spent years learning to deal with the quirkiness of their favorite toy. That is part of the fun of it, otherwise, we wouldn't have persisted. We don't need some tool to come along and take that all away from us. Not that I think Vortex entirely successfully does that. From the point of view of Nexus though, this quirkiness limits their growth as a provider of mod content. If a player doesn't have the horsepower to deal with the quirkiness, they won't continue using the Nexus product for long. So give them a tool that takes care of all that, at least until they start running up against its limits. Good job.

Only because you insist on doing it manually instead of letting Vortex do it automatically in a matter of minutes. Have fun with that, you're purposely making things difficult for yourself by refusing to use Vortex properly, then complaining about it. As I said, I have 272 mods in Skyrim, of those 272 I have a total of 18 rules I made and it didn't take hours.
