hoofhearted4
Case PSU Mobo Heatsink or Heatsink idk what your budget is or what youll be doing. but these are some basic recommendations. the PSU is overkill. you can get cheaper ones such as the TX 650W V2. which is like $90 i think. but with expensive high end stuff like the CPU and GPU youre getting, id figured youd want the best, and the AX series by corsair (what i listed) is just that. very stable and very efficient. as well as quiet and cool. FMod
Unless you need serious work in Photoshop etc, better stick to i5-3570K, it's the same thing as 3770K, minus hyperthreading. For case I'd rather take Define R4: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352022
hoofhearted4
Arc Midi is cheaper and better. R4 cant fit an H100. and doesnt have the airflow the Midi has.

kalikka
how much does i5 3570k cost? i cant seem to find any reliable info on internet -.-Around 90-100€ less than 3770k. (= around 30% less than 3770k) -Asrock Extreme4 for mobo, both of my rigs use them.-Im not sure in which continent you live in, but XFX and Super Flower (Golden Green & King Platinum) are the best quality/price PSU:s avaivable in Finland.-Macho HR-02 seems to be the cheapest cooler for getting all the juices out of 3570k. Again, the prices/avaivability depends purely on where you live.I would not recommend premade water-coolers as normal air-coolers are a lot better "bang for buck". Ofc if you cant use big air coolers like I cant in my Blackhawk case (side fan >.>) then you can think about those water-coolers.-I have Rosewill Blackhawk and Bitfenix Shinobi as a case on my rigs (shinobi is my twins).R4 is good and silent case, if you arent going to OC the crap out of everything then you dont need to worry about case cooling/fans. Im running 3570k with extreme4 + Kühler H2O 620 cooler @4,5ghz and 4,4ghz.(620 with AC F12-fan push/pull configuration, should be better or as good as Macho HR-02) Edited October 5, 2012 by kalikka
davycrockett
heres a tip i recently picked up when buying new goodies , ask the supplier if they sell brown box goods or builder series it is the same gear in a plain brown box with no branding for a fraction less than youd normally pay after all what are you gonna do with that box anyway throw it in the recycling bin id bet . (not all suppliers will extend this courtesy to you )
kalikka
In finland those components without retail packaging go with "bulk" term.Iirc the german shops also used that term. Yeah, buy bulk versions whenever you can, the price can easily be 10€ less than normal.
FMod
The usual term is "OEM". They can also be called Bulk or Tray (for CPU). "Builder series" might not be understood. There's usually no box, just a bag.But these products aren't sold under the counter, you'll usually find them on the seller's website or in their price list. Warranty might be affected, e.g. Retail CPU have 3 years, while Tray/OEM usually 1 year and come with no heatsink. That said, with a big retailer that can't keep track of their inventory you aren't necessarily saving money, e.g.: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819106004http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103943
