Laptop Specs

Recommended Posts

My aunt went and brought a new Dell Laptop from Amazon. The problem is that it is advertised as a 2.7Ghz CPU, but the machine she received says 1.1Ghz CPU.

This is the one she brought...

She went for the 'Intel Pentium Silver N5000 Processor (4M Cache, up to 2.7 GHz); Pentium N5000'

The laptop she received shows:

From the DxDiag..

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
System Model: Inspiron 3582
BIOS: 1.0.2 (type: UEFI)
Processor: Intel® Pentium® Silver N5000 CPU @ 1.10GHz (4 CPUs), ~1.1GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8000MB RAM

I haven't even looked at computer specs or buying in years. Should she be sending this thing back?

First thing I thought was that maybe 2.7 was the boost clock, it's common to advertise that instead of the base clock. And this would confirm that theory:
