Been awhile since i checked this thread, and as much as it saddens me to see Actus go i'm quite thrilled to see that the concept and work goes on so i might one day see all of these armors in my game, best of luck to you all! I shall/will be bookmarking the thread.

Critique on the companion armor

Any reason why you chose leather again? The companions are warriors surely they need more than theives and assassins.

You should think about adding some kind of wolf influence, maybe some reference to ysgramor. Wolf pelts and helmets with wolf designs (similar to blades but with a wolf instead of a dragon) would be good maybe a belt with a wolf buckle. Maybe even a wolf pelt cape with the head of the wolf behind the neck.

maybe add accessories similar to your dark brotherhood armour but accessories that work with warriors. Maybe trophys like troll skulls, giants toe etc.

I think overall these things will help give more of a feel for what the companions are all about in the vanilla game

It's a good start though

Thanks for replies guys.

@Shadowjin and JimReaper: Yes, It needs something wolfish. I had thought to maybe add a shoulderpiece and the tiny wolves from this armor: http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/25846-1-1368697057.jpg But I cant find it in the mod. I think that could be really cool. I tried to add fur, but I dont think it looked any good.

I chose leather again... I thought that these guys are more like adventurers than soldier. They travel a lot, and cant be weight down with a full plate armor .The design is from the hound from game of thrones.

@TMK: I agree, the boots looks a little wierd. Not sure what boots I want though. I feel like letho's and geralt's are overused.

Aye. Companions are more traveler- type than armored to fingernails- type.

plus, drinking mead and blacking out in full platemail would result in hypothermia in a land like Skyrim.

And their default armor doesn't look too heavily armored, so I'd say that is really good design.

Just needs some sort of headwear, and the wolfish stuff.

How about adding the wolf school amulet thingy from witcher's outfits to it? Would it look good at all?

the shoulderpiece in that picture you showed would be perfect.

what about taking the belt from the original wolf armor?

I think when you look at the original armor with the cabal retexture, the gauntlets have the wuuthrad type feel which helps links the companions to Ysgramor, The neck piece and the belt buckle help link it to the werewolves. Could you not take some of these things and incorparate them into your model? with a retexture to help blend them in maybe.

also the cloak here, adds something to the companions. Like you said, they travel a lot and skyrims cold. Could you think of adding a werewolf pelt cloak or something maybe with the werewolves head attached to the cloak?

and what about accessories like hunting trophys? or maybe the adventurers satchel seen on the aesir armor description page.

you can see the trophys and the satchels on here. I think trophys and an adventurer satchel with the original wolf armor belt and hopefully that wolf shoulder piece will really improve this armor and help the companions gain some of their original identity
