stylezzzjasonxxx
I take about 10 or so levels, then I get bored. Being a GOOD character is just tooo boring. Maybe I am just an evil player, but I can't help taking keys, money, and killing annoying NPC's. ie.. Arena Fan, Jair the Dip, any wood elf that talks tough (they are so cute, like hobbits almost), or that Orc in Leyawiin that says "Buzz Buzz- oh look everyone a fly! Buzz Buzz!", and any member of the Orum Gang. I just CAN'T help myself! What I want to know is, Which type of character do you guys prefer? Good ones, or Evil ones. And which is easier to maintain? :thanks:

Killing them is soooo booooringgggg... PS: Evil characters don't go killing for no reason or mere annoyances. That's just a psycho unbalanced kind. Evil ones kiss babies and convince you they are good to you while sucking everything you have that one may find worth slurping. They will look helping and supportive all while plotting things not so good to you, and may even don't specially wish your downfall, just a no relevant consequence. dezdimona
all my characters are neutral,a combo of both, very easy to maintain.
Olurum
Mine are usually evil. I simply do the Main Quest only so that the Dark Brotherhood doesn't 'collapse'. Having Mehrunes Dagon stomping around and ruling tamriel wouldn't be good business for them, nor would it appease Sithis much I presume, seeing as he has a thing for normal humans being killed for him. That's my excuse anyway for doing the Main Quest. Also, it provides a cover for me. Who would ever think the Champion of Cyrodiil was an elite personal assassin for one of the most dangerous men in Cyrodiil (Lucien Lachance... and yes I stop doing quests when I get to the rank of Silencer). My very first character was 'good', ie trying his best to keep every guard alive in the fight for Kvatch and so on. But good guys do tend to get boring to play. But I've made so many evil ones, I'm about to install mods like the Paladins of the Lost Divine and Malevolence among others. Going to give it another try. XanAlderon
My character is as good as they get I never did anything bad, downloaded knight of the nine made myself a holy crusader and all that. Then I downloaded the mod Malevolence which when completed made my character an evil outcast so thats what I became. My characters evil now. The only problem is that I can't stand suffering. On morrowind I just had to free every slave I could find and wouldn't kill the innocent, this also applies to Oblivion. No matter what my character always turns good. My characters good now. UnholyShadow
I find it somewhat hard to be an evil person in Oblivion. You get no extra incentives, in fact you get many penalties.
Skolhamarr
oblivion isnt really set up to have bad player. I like unholy shadow has stated, there isnt anything that helps you want to be bad. if you had more than one option on how to complete the main quest that could help lead you down the road of darkness, but there is not. Fallout is prime exp. of rpg that would reward you for being bad, I had one the worse characters of all times on that game. It didn't matter at the end of the game what you were as long as you did some what of the main quest. Main quest was very lose unlike oblivion. Knights of the old republic, reward for being bad still you can complete the main quest. the only way I see that you could do an evil character in oblivion is take up the perks system from Fallout. Deleted269910User
Well, with vanilla oblivion, it is somewhat hard to stay as a clean character considering the amount of bugs the game has with accidental murders etc.(Luckily there are mods to cure that.) but when you add a lot of the community based mods, playing good becomes even 'easier', although 'tempting' could also be used. :P There are tons of mods also that only the assassin/murderer/thief/Diablo reincarnate types can enjoy tho. With vanilla game however, it is relatively hard to try and stay clean, my advice for that is to save often. VERY often. I'm playing in the twilight zone myself. I kill those I don't like, I choose a city in which my character 'lives' and practically protect that area while I leave/go help the other cities to screw themselves over. Landsknecht
I find it somewhat hard to be an evil person in Oblivion. You get no extra incentives, in fact you get many penalties. I have to agree. It becomes expensive to heal when you are evil. Also, Oblivion forces evil characters into three boxes: Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, and/or mass murdering psychopath. This problem could have (and should have) been fixed through the misc. quests having multiple options to completing them (i.e. joining the gang of thieves as part of the Siren's Deception, becoming Agamir's assistant as part of Unfriendly Competition, etc.). The whole lack of diversity in the good/evil spectrum shows Oblivion's lack of role playing in favor of hack and slash.
