Next Game in Tamriel?

I know they're coming out with an Elder Scrolls MMO. I'm not personally all that interested. I don't like MMO's all that much. I also know that the Elder Scrolls series will be over after that. But Bethesda has been cryptic as to whether they're going to release any more games based in the world of Tamriel. Assuming they do in the style of Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, where would you want it to be? I feel that if there were the level of detail they put into Skyrim (and then some given technological advancements), then they could do a really great job with a desert/tropical sort of locale such as Elsweyr or Hammerfell. I gotta admit, playing Journey got me to realize how beautiful deserts can be made in games, and I bet Bethesda could really bring one to life. What's your thoguhts?

I'm sure there will be a TES VI. My money's on Summerset Isle, but I'd love to see Valenwood. I really love forests, and I love the weirdness of Bosmer. (Emotionally immature, cannibalistic little rogues anyone? ^^ ) I'm sure that Elsweyr would be beautiful, and it would be great to actually see the 20something different versions of Khajiit, but I've wanted to see Valenwood since the days of Morrowind.

I'm still betting on Summerset though. It seems like a natural progression. And it would be my third choice (after going back to Morrowind again :P )

Lets See...So far we had:

High Rock and Northern Part of Hammerfell in TESII Daggerfall

Morrowind in TESIII Morrowind

Cyrodiil in TESIV Oblivion

Skyrim in TESV Skyrim

Which leaves us the following Regions who so far had no "main part" in the Series:

Summerset Isles home of the Altmer

Valenwood home to the Bosmer

Elsweyr home to Khajits

Blackmarsh home to Argonians

I also would bet my money on Summerset Isles but personally I would like to "revisit" the whole of Hammerfell again in todays tech glory.

However, I dont think it will be Elsweyr or Blackmarsh because only hardcore TES Fans would want a game populated by Cats or Lizards and we know that the Gaming World today does not work that way. Not that I dont like them mind you, I just dont see that happening anytime soon.

Unfortunately there is always the worst possibility that the coming MMO is so succesfull, that Bethesda decides to completely go online (effectively killing modding as a byproduct) much like WOW did to the Warcraft series of Blizzard.

Now that the Thalmor have played such a large role in Skyrim, I'd like to see the next game in Summerset Isles, if only for the opportunity of toppling the Aldmeri Dominion. :P But I like the idea of Valenwood, too.

Should be about 4 more games that they can pump out if not more unfortunately since it takes about 4 years to make one you be waiting awhile. I can see them doing Summerset Isles next dont really matter to me anything they make I know it will rock

dont think it matters if the mmo becomes a huge hit 1st its a different company that owns Bethesda if anything its a win win more possible $ funding into Bethesda for their single player games. Zenimax heavily funded Bethesda back in the day when they started making morrowind

Don't you know Blizzard is a company that likes to take their time when developing games. Just look at Diablo - there is a 10 year gap between Diablo 2 and 3.

I'm sure Warcraft 4 will come someday, I bet it will come out in the next couple of years. Blizzard would be stupid not to release a sequel to such a successful game. The same is with TES. I doubt that the single-player series will stop because of an MMO. TES series is likely the most successful single-player RPG series of all time, but I doubt the MMO would be all that popular. The point is, single-player TES games are successful for a reason, and Bethesda wouldn't want to stop developing successful games that make their fans happy and make them money. The MMO obviously isn't even supposed to replace the single-player TES series, as evidenced by the fact that it even isn't developed by Bethesda Studio themselves.
