Hi, I am in Dimhollow Crypt. I have revealed the beautifaul Serana in her stone monolith and my quest file asks me to talk to her. But she does not talk nor react to any action I make.

I have even tried to kill her (which is not possioble - buit she was thrown from the monolith), but even then she does not talk to me.

Anybody ouit there who can help ???

I had the same issue. I'm not sure exactly how it resolved itself, but what I did was:

A) Left the cell and returned (had to TCL through the gate that descends behind you). No effect.

B) Reloaded from an old save and freed her again. Still, no effect.

C) Without reloading after attempt B, left the room, made a sandwich, ate it, and came back. Suddenly she decided to let me talk to her.

My suggestion? Try eating a sandwich.

...or at least try giving her 5-10 minutes before trying to talk to her.

A) I have left via your way - no effect.

B) ditto, no effect

C) I not only left the room, I even went out into the world and re-entered the halls. no effect

I harvested all mushrooms, I collected my new dragonshout, I mined all orefields I found - no effect. But Serana has left the pedestal in the monolith and is just standing in front of it.

I am at a loss. :wallbash:

With option C, I was referring to real life, not Skyrim :). I simply left the game running for 5-10 minutes while Serana stood there with all the personality of a doorknob. When I got back, I mashed the "E" key and she spoke to me on the third or fourth try.

By the way, look forwards to other bugs once you finally manage to get past this point. So far I've encountered:

A) The Serana-won't-talk bug you're having.

B) Mouse controls becoming inactive after entering Castle Volikhar for the first time (ie. after leaving, I couldn't use the mouse wheel to change camera perspective, or use the mouse buttons in combat - several re-loads later, the problem mysteriously resolved itself).

C) NPCs not appearing when they should in the "Prophet" quest (had to use console commands AND create a scripted spell in the CK to get past this point - the spell enables and summons the Moth Priest you're supposed to find).

D) To be continued...

Damn, late as heck but there is a fix... Open the console, click on Serana, then type, without the quotation marks "Setpqv DLC1NPCMentalModel LockedIn_var False". This should fix it. It fixes most, if not all, issues with Serana either not following after telling her to wait or not following anymore after being dismissed or cured.

If your siding with the dawnguard, and giving responses like that...I would not ether were I her. I would just hope I reached my home alive were I scripted to be forced to accompany such a one. On the way I would clam up totally.

Ok, here is the fix that worked for me, and I troubleshooted it on several different saves with the same issue multiple times. Before I get to the fix I want you to know that I tried everything I could find online, and then some. Everything, from re downloading skyrim to disabling all my mods. Everything. all console commands I could think of/look up, setting the quest stages, completing the quest, all of it while standing in front of either Serana, "the Mysterious Woman" at the time, who either wouldn't wake up, or if she did, she wouldn't talk to me.

Here was the Fix

DONT ENTER THE QUEST AREA i.e Dimhollow cave. just discover it. Now that your standing outside of the cave, in main land Skyrim, reset the quest (which will complete the quest for whatever reason. doesn't make sense. It should just reset quest awakening, but for some reason it completes awakening and starts Bloodline, it I tried it on 4 different saves. 2 of mine and 2 of my buddies who had the same problem, and it always completed awakening) Do this by instructions below

open console commands

resetquest dlc1vq01

Close console command

You should get journal entry "completed Awakening....Started Bloodline"

wait (in real life, not game time) a few seconds. Serana should appear near you like magic (like when an npc changes instances/locations/enters doorways)

However that may not be the case. 2 of the four times (both times it was my save and not my friends....so who knows what the issue was there, because of the thousands of variables that are different between saves) Serana wouldnt be anywhere near me/in my location even after waiting in real life a few min, or in game time a few hours-24 hours. You can solve this issue one of two ways. Try #1, then #2. #1 always worked for me, I never tried #2, but theoretically it should work just fine.

Open Console Command

1) player.moveto 02002b74 (this will bring you to Serana, which will reset serana to your location, BECAUSE in the questline that just started, AKA Bloodline, Serana is supposed to be following you. 10/10 times my character would just appear behind her,I am standing infront of a tree....suddenly serana is standing where I was standing, and now I am behind serana)

2) prid 02002b74 (this will bring Serana to you)

Now everything is back to normal, and you should be able to talk to Serana. If you want to go into dimhollow cave, (there is a dragon shout in there, past Serana's location) feel free. If you want to just continue on the bloodline quest with Serana, go for it.

Hope this helps you. I know it was hours of frustration for me.
