CalibanX
My idea for my next character is this: Female High Elf who only uses Lockpicking, Speechcraft, Enchanting & Alteration. Uses no armor, no fast travel (except carriages) no consumables, Potions or Poisons and fights only with Daggers. This was the concept I came up with for a super gimped character. I like the idea of playing an awkward character who's skills don't usefully fit into the usual niches of magic/stealth/melee. This should be interesting. Does anyone else have super gimped characters they've tried playing with?
SoulofChrysamere
Orc warrior/ninja hybrid that uses heavy armor and two-handed weapons along with bows, yet relies constantly on stealth.
Bloodinfested
If you really want to gimp don’t use dark elf or Nord because of the natural elemental resistance makes fighting dragons harder. I stopped the regen on health by console also downloaded every mod that increases hardness, I normally use low end gear and weapons. If this was an mmo I obviously wouldn’t use low end gear/weapons but on occasion is fun to run around naked and kill ppl in pvp just for a good laugh because ppl think gear matters more then skill Edited October 10, 2012 by Bloodinfested
justwannaddl
I built a penny-less bare fisted magic hobo Khajiit before. His skills were pick pockets, speech, block, sneak, lockpicking and illusion. Most of his stats were devoted to stamina for the sole purpose of running away when he encountered a fight while his faithful dog sacrificed itself in defense of his master. Needless to say I never completed many quests with this build.
Deleted3507349User
I have a high elf that thinks he's an orc...and fights like one (his story is here - shameless plug)...no magic, heavy armor and two-handed weapons. I have a scrawny orc that was born in Largashbur and abandoned to the streets of Riften (he was the runt of the litter, y'see) and he's well on his way to becoming a master pickpocket/sneak thief. No armor at all, except for official Thieve's Guild armor (and then only on a official guild mission). Dual-wielding daggers and a bow. Possibly going to limit him to illusion magic. The7Sins
An Imperial who uses no combat skills. He does however use Alteration (for mage armors, candlelight, waterbreathing, and detect life), Illusion (for fear spells, calm spells, and muffle), Restoration, Block, Smithing, Alchemy (only for potions no poisons), Light Armor, Sneak, and Speech. And he is armed with 1 dagger and a light shield. He is a major coward and pacifist who will only fight if he can not flee fast enough from a fight or talk down his attackers. AnkhAscendant
My main character is a Breton who has never worn a piece of armor in his life and only uses special daggers for assassinating people (because it's ritualistic, y'see), otherwise has never used a weapon either. Destruction and stealth. Of course, using a Breton at all is automatically un-gimped, because of the magic resistance. ^^; So I guess my most gimpy character isn't that spectacular. (Not really gimped, but against type, I also have a female high elf who has never used a spell in her life, straight up one-handed and light armor. And I pretend to myself that Acrobatics is still a skill so she can have that too >> )
TaterChip
Some argonian mohawk guy who was insta-killed by almost anything. All he ever did was use his fist punchin mud crabs. He didn't have any skills and he was short little lizard who didn't even know how to wear a piece of cloth or wield a dagger. He was built with the intention of sucking... at least the essence of sucking. He is the god of sucking I guess you can say.
Lord Garon
Oh man, I've tried some weird builds to see if certain nerfs helped gameplay: Perk related: Only used 20,10,5, and zero perks. No enchanting. No smithing. No Block perks. No perks outside of main thief/warrior/mage skills. I've tried no armor builds, no ranged attack builds, no melee weapon builds. Tried an "entrepreneur" guy who could only buy/find things and never make or improve them. Tried to invent a "pure" Alchemist; a mage type who used Alchemy instead of spells. Used plain bows for "poison delivery systems". Kinda fun, but possible spoilers limit what I can say about that build. Most gimped character was a "pure" Illusionist; pure mage type using ONLY Illusion spells and found daggers. Had to avoid almost all combat cause he had no armor at all. Might have worked with much higher stealth skills, but was VERY boring after a while. No fun whomping on hi-level enemies (Dragon Priests) with a 10 damage dagger and Torch fire, or just having bad guys fight amongst themselves and sneaking around them. (Most powerful build: Maxed destruction and conjuration mage: follower, 2 Master level thralls with summoning staffs, and a dog. I could have taken over Skyrim myself.)
